Product Description
Designed by Matt Cucchiara, the Kizer Mini Flashbang Skully is unconventional in more ways than one. To start, the blade features an aggressive recurve, which is good for cutting free-hanging material and slicing Read More

The Kizer knives I have bought have been mostly very well done. This one is a bit higher priced than I can justify for a small knife, or even most larger ones. I can accept the skull look, though I would not seek it out. The M390 is a nice choice.

got my first Cucchiara, and what a stunning knife! skully details are immaculate. dead-centering, smooth manual flipping action. dat aburi clip is way sweet. the m390 steel is da cherry on top of da cake. hard to find great value like this. small & light is wat EDC is all about. thx Massdrop!

Great little edc knife! This is my first "premium" Chinese made knife and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. The blade grinds are symmetrical, the tumbled finish looks great and the edge is very sharp. I bought this knife because of the skull design on the handle, I think it's cool. The anodized clip adds a bit of bling but not too much. Overall this was a great experience. Kudos to Matt Cucchiara, Massdrop & Kizer!

Hmmm well i received the Kizer today and i must say i am pretty disappointed with it. The frame has scratch marks all over it like its been dragged along cement. The grinds on the back edge of the blade are uneven. Really flimsy feel all over. The only decent thing about this knife is the clip. Guess i shouldnt have expected too much for a chinese made knife, Will be sticking to USA made from now on. This will be up for sale asap. For a $170 knife, total rip off. A benchmade or an emerson would have been a lot better investment. Do yourself a favour and keep well clear of this piece of chinese crap. Oh and whoever posted that "you could spend twice as much and not do as well" lol you must be joking ???

GTO461Maybe you are just too upset to think about it... Listen, if you have such a defect you should immediately contact their warranty service, apart from that all knife companies have bad pieces passing through QC somehow, even Spyderco has that on rare occasions and Benchmade does this regularly. And similarly to what you said, unless you saw their full potential I don't think you can talk that way on Chinese companies, I am not an American and not a Chinese so I have zero patriotical feel to the origin of the knife, I judge by all the factors I see in my collection, and believe it or not Kizer does a good job, yes it has some issues sometimes but isn't this is why warranty exists? Even though it was a bad impression of Kizer to you, you will not talk bad for it. I hope I made you rethink your position, thank you, your one and only Magical Banana.
So... When these beauties will ship out?

Fresno? FresYes! I didn't know there were any knife makers/designers calling the central valley home. I'm not really into skull stuff, but I like the general design.

" dons the profile of a menacing skull "
Do you have to stare at it really hard and unfocus your eyes to see that? I'm sorry but all I see when I look at that handle is a random mish mash that only a swishy boy would be proud to carry.

I can't get past the skull. Trying to like the knife, but just can't get that far.

ChoronzonI'm the same way. Request the regular Ti version of the handle - I'm sorry they didn't get both. This is by far the most popular of the 2. I do wish they did the ano treatment on the clip of the regular version, that would be awesome.

Clutch_CargoThat would be... and if they did something similar without the recurve in the blade, that would ideal.

Nice knife and I usually like Kizer designs. The rainbow anodizing is cool too.
But the skull... is badly drawn in my opinion. It looks like a middle schooler's idea of a skull and I can't unsee it. The features looked jutted way too far out and the brow looks terrible. Especially jarring on what is otherwise a very nice knife.

For reference, a well drawn side profile: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/50/56/ae/5056aed198d252d1f5de18d9bbfa4c04.jpg

SureSh0tYeah, as an artist and graphic designer/art director, I'd have sent this one back for reworking! Nick mentions this in the youtube review I posted earlier. I do give kudos for him making the eye socket the contour for the thumb though! For those who like skulls, they groove on this - and it's outselling the regular one by far from what I understand. I'm just not liking the neanderthal/crushed forehead thing.
I wish he'd do a straight abstract bubble pattern like he does on many of his customs - but face it, skulls are popular right now. His version on the Dorado flipper (another great one) is messed up too!
Posted below is a review of the Dorado, another Cucchiara winner, and another one that also comes in PLAIN Ti. But you can see the same skull "design". We just need to request a drop of the PLAIN Ti handles - because I'd be all over this drop otherwise. https://youtu.be/mH7-NPginw0
