Got mine today, I like it. It came in the fancy Kizer box, with a pouch, etc. The handle colors are nice. I wouldn't have bought it if it was a plain handle. I was hoping the colors would match the red and black Dukes (show below), but they're not quite the same, no big deal. The washers were smooth out of the box, as if they'd been broken in. It's a well-made utilitarian knife with good steel, at a good price. I'm surprised only a few were sold on MD.

This closed May 29 and I haven't seen so much as an estimated shipping date. Another drop I joined closed June 3 and a shipping estimate was mailed two days later. Is three weeks of silence after close typical?

shimrodIt varies. The estimated date is listed in the drop, in this case June 18, so we're still ok. They should ship within the next few days. If not hopefully MD will say something.
EDIT: mine was shipped Jun 20 and received Jun 22.

I'm assuming one can get a third party low rider clip for this knife? Anyone know? Thanks.

This looks like a great knife for the price.
Not pretty, but the blade and handle seem really solid. I like that it has a really good finger guard.
This will actually make a great work knife for me: The blade is S35VN, a great steel. Blade shape looks very useful - good size and shape, nothing weird about it. Kind of reminds me of the Sheepsfoot blade on my Benchmade 555-1 mini Griptilian, which I love. The handle looks like it will be very comfortable. The finger guard looks very good and useful. The pattern on the scales is pretty ugly, IMO. Which is why this would make a good work knife that really gets used.

I am surprised there isn't greater interest in this knife. From what I have seen in testing, Kizer does the best heat treatment of S35VN resulting in superior performance and edge retention. If I had not just bought a bunch of other knives, I would consider this one.

"Shipped by vendor"... Sooo... can Massdrop give any assurance that the right knife will be delivered to buyers in this drop, unlike at least two of the recent Kizer drops?
Looks like this is one of their most budget knives. Understandable Kizer is delivering knives that people are willing to buy. After slowly, and involuntarily becoming something of a (beginner) 'knife guy', I'm really liking what this knife offers at this price point. I'm also holding out for slightly better knives, that I know will cost more. My price-point started at around $50, I'm now most interested in knives around the $200 range, and only own a couple knives that cost more (one is a fantastic kitchen knife).
I'd really like to see an image of the knife from the back of the spine looking through the knife. I like to see how much blade stock is left between the liners (adding lateral strength), see the spacing and clearances. This image is not in the original photos of this knife. Yes, I can go find them, but I find I trust Massdrop reviews/info so much, I often make the decision (now) without even double checking. Massdrop has come a long way in providing accurate info, pics and have always allowed fair/honest discussion. Even when some folks (like me) have been somewhat critical.
Great offering here for the price. A 'budget' Kizer is better than many mortal knives. I'm happy to say I have a couple Kizer's in my collection - this would be a wonderful starter/first premium mass produced knife.

No ball bearings ?

Sebenza definitely represents a high end quality. I can see your position on the topic, given your location. Nevertheless, i also believe this blade to be a good value. I looked up a review on YouTube and the reviewers say the liner is titanium. If thats true, ive read that most manufacturers utilize a stainless insert to eliminate wear in the titanium liners. At the cost/value ratio i dont think the insert would be feasible but it would definitely be a good addition.

ThefabeI prefer the performance of well executed phosphor bronze bushings over ball bearings. Ball bearings leave a lot of space for debris to build up and too often, the bearing races are dimpled by factory over tightening the pivot and/or using bearing races that are too thin. This happens on both inexpensive and premium knives, such as the Spyderco Advocate, which was removed from market after many consumer complaints. The perceived advantage of ball bearings is that they are smooth without much break-in; the first impression counts and perception is reality to most.
