gdoteofThe FF one is made by Weknife, which is a pretty good Chinese knife manufacturer (I own 2 of their knives), and Kizer is like the only other good Chinese manufacturer that I know of (own two of Kizer's knives and gifted one of their knives). They both do in-house designs and manufacture designs for other designers. i.e., the FF one was designed by FF, and this one was designed by Justin Gingrich. The knives I own from them are all pretty high quality for the price. Personally, I would choose the FF one over this due to the full titanium handles over G-10 scales with titanium liner. Also, the deal for the FF one is better than this one (which is also a good deal imo), and I'm not a big fan of assisted/automatic folders.

gdoteofThis has more usable blade surface. The FF uses a large part of their 2.9" for the finger choil. The manufacturing of the FF by WE will be superior. This is an older Kizer design, and they've moved past a lot of the technology employed here. I really like this knife, and wouldn't part with it, but between the 2 knives? I'd also consider a third option, such as the Kizer Dukes or Velox 2 if you're looking for a good EDC.
If you want Ti scales, look at the Ki401 series, which is at BladeHQ for between $100-110. They sold the B1 here for $125 a couple of weeks ago. Still uses bronze washers, but again, more usable blade surface. And they're stunning knives. The FF is a small, small knife. I'm in on the drop, but I think a lot of people don't realize how small it really is.

Clutch_CargoThanks. I am on the drop as well, for my first 'good' knife intended to be an edc. I am not expecting the small size will be an issue for me; realistically it's probably just going to cut boxes and cable ties.

gdoteofFor 90% of what most people actually use their knives for, the FF (or any 3" blade) is perfect. I've got large knives, but the closer they get to, and over 3.75" the less they wind up in my pocket. I've never had an opportunity to skin an elk at the office yet - and if I did I'd want a fixed blade anyway!

LucunReate knives or Rike knives take the top spot imo, followed by WE knives and then Kizer. Whatever order it is, those are definitely the top 4. 👍

Rjdowell77Agree with the top 4, and probably the order as well. Kizer almost suffers from too many models. Reate - what can I say, I love them. Rike is amazing as well, both of these guys are top-tier and probably going to be unaffordable soon enough. I've got a Rike 1508 2nd anniversary coming any day now. I think WE and Kizer will continue to satisfy a broader spectrum of buyers. I'd love to see some trickle down from Reate and Rike, but I don't think we'll see it.
Another brand to watch is CH. Their better knives are amazing - I've got one that flips as good - actually smoother than any other knife I own. Vespa also builds some amazing knives, but sadly mostly clones. Kevin John is a brand I've not laid a hand on, but many people compare to CKF (it's even sold there) and do their own uniquely weird designs. The Venom series is now selling for top dollar. So lots of stuff coming out of China. It's actually amazing how fast WE established themselves in the knife community - what - a whole year?
Oh, and WE just released 2 killer knives at the $100 range, the 703 and the 706. They're both LARGE knives though, but have the same technology as their high-end knives, just with G10 scales. They actually look like the most usable designs they've come out with, no weird grinds to contend with. Several color configurations & 2-tone blades.

Clutch_CargoI have the Rike 2 years knife and love it! I got the blue one, which is actually almost like a stonewahed teal and blurple clip and backspacer. Its a beautiful ano job. Also you are right on about CH knives, are you talking about the 3004? Because it is definitely the smoothest action knife in my collection. Absolute perfect action and detent! I really like MG knives too, i have the "Tyrant" which is just about perfect as well. High end Chinese knives make up the most part of my collection.👌👍

Clutch_CargoOh, and also i do like the g-10 version WE knives, they look really nice. The only negative, imo, is the d2 steel which is great other than if stored for any length of time, will start to get some corrosion, and that is a deal breaker for me.

Rjdowell77Embarrassingly, I forgot Rike was one of them as well. I actually own their 1504A. Besides the issue with the clip pushing down on the lock (forgiveable since it was one of their earlier designs). Very solid knife with very nice geometry design and machining pattern details. Good smooth flip thanks to the good ball bearings on the pivot, too. Definitely deserves the top spot of the Chinese makers. I never owned a Reate before, so I might keep an eye out on one. But, I went and grabbed a few Spyderco's and the FF collab, so I'll have to wait a bit. However, personally, I like Kizer's designs over Weknives', but I do agree that WeKnives' manufacturing quality seems to be better than Kizer's.

LucunYeah i think they are all top of the line knives in any catagory, so even though i put Kizer at the bottom of that list, i have more of them in my collection (6 to be exact), than anything, and with zero issues. (Besides a couple that doesn't have a steel lock bar insert. Only complaint).

Rjdowell77Yeah, D2 is just wrong for some people depending on their location. In sunny California, it's not an issue for me!

Rjdowell77The CH I've got (well one of them) is the 3500 Matsuda. Pretty much the whole 350X series gets accolades for buttery smoothness. Most people love the 3504 skull flipper. I also have the B000302, which is nice, but not amazing. I actually purchased what appeared to be the 3001 only under the name of Kubey, and it was so disappointing I sent it back. Nice looking knife, but just wouldn't flip. Didn't feel it was worth investing time to figure out why. I came pretty close to buying the MG that LTK was selling on his channel a few days ago, a lot of people were saying how much they love theirs - gonna have to give one a shot!

Clutch_CargoYes, the 3504 is what i meant. I love mine. I swear it is just as good or better quality than my Rike or Reate knives. The only other knife I've found that even comes close to that kind of quality and materials for under a hundred bucks ismy Rike 1502. I liked the 1502 so well, i bought another one.👌👍
