I agree that the knife is unusually light for its size and too unwieldy for EDC. I can very easily deploy the blade just by shaking it once without having to use the flipper assist, so it came pretty greased up, but I think it's also because the handle is so light. So far its primary use has been for opening packages and breaking down cardboard boxes afterwards, so I generally keep it on the table where my packages collect.

Received mine the other day, it's very well balanced and uniquely attractive. Did anyone else's knife contents happen to smell like moldy basement like my did? It took a couple of days of use to get the smell out, but the rest of what was in the box (bag, cloth, paperwork) are still holding onto the smell.

TheTimiHendrixExperienceI got mine a few days ago. Same experience here regarding the smell. The G2 handles are a bit rough. The tumbled finish of the blade in my opinion is a bit distracting. Considering the size of the knife, it is unusually light. I have a Benchmade of similar size which is about twice as heavy. The price of below $100 bucks is a fair deal for the knife and as a collector, I don't mind having bought the knife. However, if I were looking for a knife as an exclusive carry, this is not an EDC option bc it is just too big. For serious outdoor applications, it is just too light to be used for anything other than light jobs. I am not sure where that knife fits in other than just a showy item that one carries around for fun.

SurefireYes, with a very high level of craftsmanship that puts many USA companies to shame. Several US custom makers have done collaborations with them, producing some incredibly nice knives.

SurefireIt'seems one of those things where you can turn your nose be of its origin and pass up a great deal, or do some research and realize that not everything out of China is crap and end up with a great deal. However, like w/any firm, not everything they are making is gold however

Eq52515What would you replace it with suez or camogrom? At least if you drop it outside a gravel pit itll stand out. Look out for floral lounges though.lol
