Not much of a savings. It is being sold on Amazon for $39 with next day delivery. What's the point of buying it here.

It's nifty that it can charge 8 batteries at the same time but you will rarely need this many. At least I don't. What is more worrying to me is that this brand is unknown to me, not that I am an expert but still, also there is no mention of built-in protections. That last thing scares me. Some of the bigger batteries will have to be charged over night and I don't think I'd be willing to trust this device not to burn your house down. In my opinion getting Opus BT-C3100 is a smarter choice. They are well known and tested, offer more functionality (testing, discharging, refreshing, etc.), can charge up to 2A (on slot 1 and 4, 1A on all). Am not claiming Klarus is a bad brand or this charger is not good, but provided information is making me skeptical.

That's good to know. Like I said, I am no expert with this, just unfamiliar with this manufacturer. Still, I'd like to see some details regarding protections which are in place.

To be fair, as a photographer, I often have 2-3 sets of four batteries to charge. But overall the lack of power per slot would concern me with this product.

Should I trust a company who's marketing team doesn't know the difference between a microcontroller and a microcomputer to build a battery charger that won't start a fire? Ok looking into it they are based in Shenzhen. I see that they are claiming CE marking. I'm pretty sure that since I'm not in Europe, what ever product that is being sold to me is not CE compliant. I'd want to see a UL testing or equivalent as well as an FCC 47 part 15 compliance before putting money down for this.

For battery junction "Every Order Ships Directly From The United States Authorized Dealer For All Products Sold." This means that battery junction has no inventory and are acting as a marketplace these items are likely shipped from China. If there is no FCC compliance (and labeling is a part of that compliance, and I'm not seeing FCC labeling) for items containing microcontrollers, these sales would also be illegal.

No 9V/PP3 compatibility, dang. Would've been very down for that even if it required occupying two charging "bays".

Is this any good? It looks amazing on the board: charges most common batteries, including both classic AA / AAA and modern Li-ion formats too, 8 slots, independent charge indicators, 8x650mA output... For $35, it looks too good to be true without any downsides.

Eli35Honestly, I wouldn't call it amazing. There's not mention of protections that this thing has. No under-voltage, no over-voltage, no thermal protections, etc. For 10$ more you can get Opus BT-C3100 and be happy with it with much more functionality.
