I've owned a G20 for a year or maybe a little more. Up until just a few weeks ago, I used it every single night to walk my dogs and just enjoy my property before hittin' the rack. I still use it often for the same thing, but I acquired a quality headlamp that lets me be hands-free, and use that most often nowadays. The build quality on the G20 has remained superior. The UI is different than what I was used to when I got it, but I eventually figured it out and am comfortable with it at this point. The switches have held up fine, still working at 100%. When I was using it all the time, the battery only needed to be charged every couple of months. I run it on Med-High and High most of the time, usually for 15 to 20 minutes. The availability of the Turbo setting depletes a lot sooner than that, but I rarely use it at all anyway, and even when I do, it's only for a short duration to see the 100 yards or so at the bottom of my driveway when I hear something moving around under a lean-to down there. Usually a racoon or armadillo, which I kill the light and let them have their fun down there.
The only thing I find a little questionable about Klarus' description of this light as a "search light" is that, yeah, the Turbo mode is certainly bright enough to qualify it as such, but if you're really searching for someone or something in terrains where you'd need that much power, the battery will deplete to where Turbo isn't available after 30 to 45 (tops) minutes, so you better find what you're searching for pretty quick. That said, I didn't buy it for a search light per se, and I doubt the "average" buyer will either. It's one of the best lights of any power rating I own in any case, and I own many custom and name-brand lights. Without knowing how much shipping would be, I'd say it's being offered here for a great price. My most often-used source for flashlights is selling the G20 (no "L") for $98.95 with free shipping, so unless shipping on this is in the $20 buck range (which I certainly hope it ain't), this is a very good price.
BlueTomSo for the light, is it more of a flood light where everything is lit up evenly or is it more of a super concentrated/bright spot in the middle?

Ares78I was gonna say, "Definitely flood," but then I looked at the specs on Klarus' website and it has a line in the description that says, "Specially designed textured reflector optimized for both spot and flood beams." The page for the light is here: http://www.klaruslight.com/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=174&id=134 If you look through the pictures there, it shows the light being used at night to illuminate a wide area. I can't discern any real hotspot in that picture, but the middle of the coverage is a bit brighter than the outside edges. But the "middle" probably takes up 70% or better of the coverage, so it's hardly a spot. That line in the description seems a bit misleading to me. I'd say it was strictly a flood.

BlueTomI’ve had another flashlight that takes this same battery, and I got a four-pack of rechargeable batteries on amazon for $20. For effectively quintupling the battery life on this thing, I’d say it’s worth it. That somewhat alleviates the search concerns.

ZenonReally? What kind of batteries did you get in the four-pack (AA, 18650 etc.)?

BlueTomAll four were 26650. I also purchased a charger for them, but charging in the flashlight would work fine, I think. I was going on an extended trip and wanted another battery or two, and I figured I’d use the other ones as they inevitably wore out. ZenonOh, sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were trying to say you had adapted a 4-pack of a smaller battery that increased the length of time it could run on Turbo. Having extra batteries on-hand is different than each battery having extended "life," but still, that seems like a great price for the 4-pack. When you took them on your trip, did they last as long as the Klarus stock battery? One stock Klarus replacement battery is $18.95 @ Amazon, so if the batteries in that 4-pack are close to equal in performance, it's a great deal: https://www.amazon.com/Bundle-KLARUS-5000mAh-Li-ion-Battery/dp/B01MF67GFX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523807527&sr=8-1&keywords=klarus+26650+5000+mah+battery&dpID=41vVVDmupRL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

BlueTomI don’t own a Klarus, but I did this drop, so it should be coming soon. I’ll be able to test and get back to you on that. In the Anker flashlight I got the batteries for, they lasted roughly as long, but again, it’s not like I really ran a test on them or anything.

BlueTomMy G20 arrived Saturday, so I'm testing the lives on the batteries now. Do you have issues with temperature? The light has been sitting on my desk on turbo for a while and my thermometer reads the bulb at 110° F/43° C and the case at 100° F/38 °C.

ZenonHi Zenon, Like I said in my in my first post, I rarely even turn on Turbo mode, and when I do, it's always been just for a few seconds aimed down towards the bottom of a ~50 - 75 yard driveway. I have never tried measuring heat with any of my flashlights, but going simply by touch and feel, I'm confident in saying the case has never gotten much, if any, hotter than body temperature. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that it's never gotten that hot even, but I don't have any temperature measuring devices so I can't say for sure.
Also in my first post I said that the Klarus had been mostly replaced by a headlamp. Well, in the five weeks hence since making that post, the bugs are out in full force and the headlamp draws them right to my face, so I'm back to using the Klarus every night until mid to late Fall I reckon. So I guess I can count on using it regularly (every single night except if me and the dogs go out of town, which hardly ever happens) for around six months out of every year. I estimate I had about one full year of use on it before I got the headlamp, so by mid-Fall, I'll have around 16 months of use. My review was meant only to say that my light seemed to hold up well to regular usage. I didn't include any real technical data because I haven't collected any. I do find what you've collected to be interesting though, so thanks for that. Hope you're as happy with your purchase as I am with mine.
