Although Klarus has discontinued this product, the flashlight is perfect and exactly what I was looking for an "almost EDC" flashlight.
The only reason I qualify EDC with "almost" is twofold: first, the charging interface on the Klarus RS 16 is magnetic so it will attach itself to metal objects in your pocket, and second, the on and off button is sensitive and can be easily engaged in a typical front pocket, so you might want to configure a quick-release attachment mechanism that works for you and attach it to the RS 16 instead of the included lanyard/wrist-strap.
But for the price and its function 3 levels of brightness and 2 strobe options, I do not think you can get a better deal overall.
I like this torch, but it has one major flaw: The button. This will turn on in my pocket at maximum blast and get really hot on my leg. Its a very good quality torch for the price, but be aware of the button.
This was my first nice flashlight and I am glad I waited for it. it came with a 16340 battery and gets brighter than expected. It feels solid in the hand and the magnetic charger is lovely.
Update: I have had this flashlight for two months and it is still going strong. I initially thought I would want more than 500 lumens, but it has proved to be more than enough. It lights up the backyard beautifully and if i shine it at the palm of my hand it becomes too bright to look at. The magnetic charging port makes this flashlight super easy to change and the LED ring that tells you when it is is fully charged is splendid. My one complaint is that the magnet is not super strong so the flashlight can slide on magnetic surfaces if not positioned properly.
First one I have had with such a range in brightness. Each level can be useful and the bright one is surprising for its size. No clip but it fits easily in the pocket. Easy to charge with the magnetic attachment though you can't use any other cord. Despite small limitations, I am very happy with it.
Love this flashlight. It is my every day carry. Use it for working behind network and server racks, hard to see places. Very bright, quick to recharge and carries very light. When out walking at night, easily lights up the entire area.
