I got this as an optional add-on item to a drop for a Kleen Kanteen insulated bottle a while ago.
It is a very good tumbler, and I’m very happy with it.
It has one of the better sip lids I’ve used in a tumbler of this type. It doesn’t seal, but it minimizes spills and is comfortable to drink from. The lid is sleek and simple and feels right.
A year before that purchase, I had bought the little 8oz version of this, thinking it would be perfect for the short Americanos I usually get at the cafe.
Well, it functioned perfectly, but the 8oz version has a flaw.
Because of how squat it is, the barista would almost always grasp it with one thumb on the top edge of the cup, and the rest of his or her hand cradling underneath the bottom. This instead of grasping it around the outside of the cup, as you would normally do.
Because your lip touches the rim of the cup, you can imagine how this could be a disaster during cold and flu season. Especially at a busy cafe where the barista is touching a million things in the course of his or her work.
So I definitely recommend this taller size. It’s too big for almost anybody to grasp top to bottom.
