I really would like to know the manufacturing date on these as some of the older ones have issues..

The older units (WITH the ON/OFF switch at the rear) have COMPLETELY NORMAL aging issues, but they are built like a tank. They have a heavy super-reliable linear transformer (which lasts forever), Class AB discrete amp sections, and leaded, easily replaceable capacitors.
The newer units (WITHOUT the ON/OFF switch at the rear) have the lightweight, unreliable SwitchMode Power Supply , completely unreliable SMD capacitors, with IMO sloppily-designed Class D amp sections (to keep costs down).
If the older units lasted close to 20 years, don't expect the new units with the SMPS to last longer than 2-3 years. It's a fact of design and lack of reliability, and there's nothing a consumer can do about this.
If the older heavy 2.1 was still being manufactured today, its price would have to be close to $350, which Klipsch has decided that that is a market segment in which they don't want to play.
So component choices and reliability are sacrificed to meet the sub-$150 price point. Any serious listener who wants one of these, will be looking for an older unit WITH the ON/OFF switch, even if it is not working, and have it easily repaired to working status.
Put an older one next to a brand-new one, and your ears will tell you very quickly, which is the better unit. It isn't the new one.
I have no interest or loyalty to Klipsch or any other manufacturer - I'm simply a technician who calls the shots as I see it, after having repaired tens of these units over the past 15 years.

YachadMHonestly, I can really use your help on potential fixing of my old set.
I have the 5.1 set, the speakers themselves are fine, but the subwoofer doesn't work any longer. When I last used it, it gave very little bass, almost like it wasn't getting enough power to the driver. I held onto the whole set, since it cost me so much when I bought it. I'm very interested in trying to replace it. If this kinda problem is something similar you ran into, I'd appreciate any pointers in the direction I should go with them.
