I slept on this in the Santa Cruz mountains last week, and here are my thoughts:
- It's huge! It was a tight fit in Sierra Designs Lightning 2 UL two person tent. It did feel like my girlfriend and I had some space to ourselves, and not right on top of each other. That's nice since we both run hot. - It's comfortable and thick enough for side sleepers. I'm a 200lb, 6'1" side sleeper and my hips didn't hurt in the morning. I am totally fine with sleeping on the ground with a thin pad, but my girlfriend really prefers comfort. This was comfortable for her to get a full night's sleep. - It's not light! At 40 some ounces having two light weight pads would be lighter to carry. - It takes a while to inflate and it's work. Compressing air from the stuff sack into the pad is very cleaver, but it does work those forearms.
All in all, it really like this pad. I will use it when we are car camping, and on short backpacking trips from fall to spring. Totally worth the $100, especially considering how expensive all the competitors are. I'd really prefer a smaller, lighter, self inflating pad like a 2 person Thermarest Prolite Plus, but since that doesn't exist, this will have to do.

DannyMilksBeing frugal, I found the best unmentioned feature of the double is that it helps remind me to do all I can to keep our relationship tight and solid. Any issues between us, I'm stuck shivering away on the ground and she gets double padding! Be nice and you'll be warm.
