If there was a less fancy version of this for around $40-$50 I'd be all over it, seems really cool but at this point I couldn't justify $100 on it

VajtagalOkay then dude, what do you consider fancy for a camping pad, since you apparently have the one true defection of fancy

Alee.GI'm not defecting..... Also- a screen name with gal on the end doesn't denote a dude. Sleeping pads aren't fancy, they're a necessary important piece of gear. Yes, good quality ones that will keep you warm and safe cost a bit more. If a ccm is enough cush for you you're stoked. Most need more. Underquilts are hammock hangers pads. This is the the 1st pad designed specifically for a hammock to the best of my knowledge. It's made by Klymit, they are known for quality gear. I'm not a hanger, but have 2 Klymit pillows and a pad.

Vajtagalyou need to chill, i literally never look at your screen name, and you have literally nothing of substance to add, like you literally just described what klymit is as brand and what this product is like I didn't know. And no sleeping pads aren't fancy but klymit s literally the fancy ultralight brand of camping pads and one that's designed specifically for a hammock is even more fancy. I'm not really sure what this post is about your just inanely rambling about various pieces of hammock equipment as if that will make you sound knowledgeable and not like a rude troll with nothing constructive to add.

Alee.GChill pills. Take one.
@Alee.G Klymit makes great budget friendly pads. "Fancy", maybe looking, but price wise they are very budget friendly. There are pads in the $200-$300 range by other manufacturers.
@Vajtagal I am a PNW native, I use dude as if it is sexless. Maybe thats how Alee.G intended. :)

namhodYou are all way to hung up on the word fancy to see the actual point of the comment, if there was a prod like this at a lower price point I would have more interest, and you must not know how most people Live if $100 at a discount is "budget freindly" too you, just because much more expensive one exist doesn't make this one cheap, a Bentley costs way more than a Mercedes but would you call that a budget car? I'm trying to provide so valid imput on what might do well. You are literally just throwing out basic info I already know in my face, if you bothered to read you'd see that I already know who klymit is so explaining them to me is a complete waste of time. The entire basis of this thread is your somehow obsessed with fancy being the wrong word to describe this and it's really wierd. Also I don't appreciate the patronizing tone of your entire post.

Grab a refurbished uninsulated one. About as cheap as you will find a decent sleeping pad. Good luck.

Alee.GTone? Since you can't hear their voice, how do you decide its patronizing? You are literally hung up on the word literally. Yes, $100 is budget friendly. Before you bring up the Bentley/ Mercedes analogy I do not make or have anywhere close to lots of money. Very underemployed. I love being outside, camping, hiking, backpacking, biking, swimming, you get the idea. I do due diligence before buying gear. Sometimes I have to save up to get something. But cost can't be the only factor. It must do what its supposed to, not fall apart after 3 uses, once again you get the idea. Cheap gear is ok for drive up to type campsite camping, but on the trail, out in the backwoods or on the water I prefer gear I can trust. I am not saying the $10 option is never a good idea. Lot of my camping with friends gear is inexpensive . And works great. Some of my backpacking gear is inexpensive, and in as ul as I can get. My massdrop klymit collaboration $80 pad vs the ozark trail at Walmart for $30. Mine is 4.4 r value, ozark not listed, I can approximate at under 2. Mine weighs 19 oz, theirs weighs over 2 lbs. Mine rolls up nice and small, ozark is bulky. Quality will cost more, but is worth it when you do due diligence. Designing a product for a specific purpose or need isn't fancy, its good sense. But to each his own.

VajtagalTo be fair, a foam pad is budget friendly. Next, there are a lot of options for $40-70 air sleeping pads. So, $100 may seem like a lot of money (aka "fancy") to some people, for various reasons, even if there are pads that are far more expensive in the $150-250.

VajtagalOk well I'm not quite sure what "literally hung up on the work literally" even means, and if dude is non gendered where you live why did you assume I though you where a guy when I used it? secondly I'm in no way implying that this gear isn't "worth it", if I hardcore hammock camped every weekend I'd have much less of a problem paying this much, but I don't. However I do like the idea of a pad that's designed to stay in place in a hammock but for something that will only see that one exclusive use maybe once a month $100 just isn't budget friendly. Plus I don't need something that stuffs up so small or weighs so little so I would consider that to be fancier than I need.
