I have one of these, I use it inside my bag which is a military issue ranger (lightweight) bag and it fits, just barely, but it fits from the toe all the way to up to the top of the hood, and I've never needed an additional pillow. Also, hard to roll off of it if it's in the bag. The thinner material used, compared to my 20 year old thermarest, is questionable to me if used directly on the ground, I'd recommend some sort of ground cloth unless sleeping on a very clean spot. I'm a hammock camper and while it doesn't have any intrinsic insulation, the way the holes allow the loft of your bag to keep from being as compressed seems to me to make for a warmer sleep than without it. And the option of choosing how firm you want it is nice. I often used to blow extra breaths into my thermarest, and you will need to use the included bulb pump to get it extra firm, though in the hammock, i typically don't inflate it that much. I just couldn't pass on the pack size compared to my thermarest. Now it stays inside my pack, away from the elements. Also, it's about twice as thick as my old rectangle when inflated, pure luxury to me when on the ground in a bivy. I also like the included patch kit in the top flap. They have a great warranty, and are a steal at this price I think. Only thing I miss is not being able to fold it into a chair. ;-) My $.02
