I routinely go one military exercises where I have to sit on a steel folding chair for weeks at a time. I have a couple of these in my field desk and they work wonders. Only thing is they often try and walk away. I put a lark's head of para cord around the valve to make sure they don't walk , but it would be nice it there was a lanyard hole somewhere. Would also be good for making sure it didn't float away if using for a kayak or canoe pad. Add my voice to those requesting an insulated pad. I also use these on the bleachers at soccer games. Once the metal bleacher has cooled the air in the bladder I have to re-inflate.
HI all... This is Chris from Massdrop.. we were able to work with Klymit and get 200 more units to extend this drop until Sunday. Both this drop and the original drop will have the same ship date of 2/14. !! Enjoy!
Sit pads should be a rectangular shape that serve as a back pad for ultralight frameless packs. With a rectangular shape they work just as well for sitting but also serve double duty adding support and rigidity for a frameless pack.
Just received mine. It is nice that they are actually a dark green, not the puke you green shown.
This purchase was a fail, at least for me. I'm 6' and 215 lb. No matter how much air tried to put in the pad is felt like it was going flat when I sat on it. Smaller folks might have better luck. That, and blowing it up and putting it away was kind of a pain. Still better than nothing though. I use a little Z-lite sit pad which works for me.
Great products as long as you have zero issues, as they have ZERO customer service. I've been trying to get a hold of a human being for over a month & half and still waiting on a refund from a return that was delivered to them 4 weeks ago! So sad, as I thought this company had a lot of potential. :(
@Klymit The masses keep asking for an insulated version, is this gonna happen? We're heading into my favorite camping season I would love an insulated butt pad!

Sounds like this should be a suggestion sent in to their team on their website, not blurted out on someone else’s website when they’re offering their product at less than half the normal selling price.

Klymit was/is active in these forums, go back under your bridge.
I also would like an insulated pad.
I like the idea of insulated ones also.
Now Klymit has to make another design where it's a bit narrower and longer so it can also be used as a frame for a frameless pack, and also change this horrible color.

Sounds like an opportunity for GG customer service, id shoot them an email they are fond of their lifetime warranty. I suspect you might could rob a valve off an old blood pressure cuff also. Might find a cheap one on evil bay.

You probably mean Klymit customer service I did get a replacement, it is still leaking and I have to pump it every half an hour
Ok, so I got mine yesterday and I think there must be something wrong with the valves. I have to try to twist the knob closed while blowing pretty hard into the vavlves. Air continues to leak out of the bottom too, so I can't get it inflated very firm AT ALL. Both seats seem to act exactly the same... do I have two defective valves? Thanks!
JeepFreak
I have a few Klymit sleeping pads with similar valves. Once inflated, I've found it's best to seal the valve by flexing the plastic corner 90 degrees and placing my thumb on the underside of the valve to prevent a lot air loss. I can then twist the valve cap tight..and have a fairly firm mat.
So the package with my two seats was out on the truck to be delivered today and after work I find this in the tracking info "This item has been intercepted on February 26, 2018 at 9:10 am and redirected as requested by the sender." Seems odd?
So let me get this right if I double the order (4 seats) the shipping will double🤔 so that would be $27 to get to this side of the pond . Come on Massdrop get real
Weight Limit??
Tasselhoff
Seconded.
Additional thought on these - I'm a sometimes side-sleeper and my knees don't get along so I tuck the blanket between them. That just doesn't work with a 1-pound down sleeping bag, so I'll be using mine as a between-the-knees pillow at night on cycle tours. Multiple uses for the win!
Mine arrived in Canada today - my 1st Drop. Little surprised the valves are different than on my Static V insulated pad but I can live with that. Hoping it comes in handy on my cross-country bicycle trip in the spring. :)
Guys are you doubling up the shipping cost for an order of 2? I'm based in Germany ordering 1 pack of two costs $13 for 2 packs of two is $21? that looks a bit steep?
Ours showed up today and we really like them. I think they'll be nice in the kayak. Showed them to some friends and they want some too. Hopefully there is another drop before xmas.
Am I missing something...where do I see the shipping cost???
bgoul12
click on the "JOIN DROP" button and you will see the shipping cost before checking out.
CampCatskill
Gotcha. Thanks!!
Hope you're joking about the shipping being high. :) US shipping was less than $3.00. I guess international could be out there. Getting a set for ball games in the bleachers.
ddorn
$13 =)
It's odd that this isn't insulated or have a rubberized bottom for non-slip purposes. Could see buying these as gifts for my uncle + father for seeing sporting events in cold weather if they were like that. Maybe next go around?

Agreed there. For seat covers that would make a lot more sense than say a sleeping pad. I'll pay more if they add that as a feature!
Dr.McCoy
Those are great ideas. Hopefully they incorporate them into a future design.
OMG. The shipping is so expensive.
mightymosping
Agreed!
I guess this is non-insulated? Too bad, an insulated but pad would make a lot of sense.
CampCatskill
I would like an insulated option as well for use with my 3/4 length underquilt.
CampCatskill
Agreed, especially since I would mainly want to use something like this on cold metal bleachers.
