I received my gift set and while it is beautiful, I was pretty disappointed that 1.) the needles were not secure in their places but floating all over the box and 2.) I did not receive the earrings that were supposed to be included in the set.
I just received my set and no earring were to be found :(

I contacted them and they gave me a partial refund :)
has anyone else had issues with their kit? Mine came with no size 8 (US) but I have two 10.5 (US).
other than that issue, Im n love with my new needle set!

Everything in my kit looked like it had been gone through thoroughly. i decided since no one else ended up with spares to return my set back to Massdrop.
i inquired about getting a replacement size 8 outside of Massdrop and it was going to be more than the cost saved in purchasIng. From Massdrop.
thanks for the suggestio!

Everything in mine was also very jumbled up upon opening and there were no earrings included.

The group's bulk order arrived earlier to our warehouse in New Jersey and many of the individual packages have already shipped back out. However, upon taking inventory of everything received, our team was made aware of a backorder affecting a small handful of units. Rest assured, we've reached back out to the vendor to resolve this hiccup and expect to have the remaining units in our warehouse by mid-December.
We understand that the additional wait time is undesirable. If you would prefer to cancel your order, please contact Community Support using the “Contact Support” button in your transactions page (http://massdrop.com/transactions).
You can expect an update from us on 12/19 or sooner if something comes up.

Bulk shipment received! Our warehouse team confirmed that the group's order arrived earlier and now they're working hard to break everything down into the individual packages for shipment to each of you. We will monitor their progress closely and update the group once all packages are sent out.
Expect another update from us on 11/28 or sooner if something comes up.

Awaiting confirmation! We are still in contact with the vendor and just awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse very soon.

What does this have to do with quilting?

I agree wholeheartedly. I have been an avid quilter for 52 yearsand I'm a purist I would rather see exclusively quilting in one site and other needlework home crafts on a separate site.
Looks like only 33% didn't want to see anything else, actually.
These are wooden needles so would be different than the turbo nice for slippery yarns

Hi @Deloris, They are aluminum needles. The earrings are wood. :-)
Deloris
Yes, lightweight aluminium with a slightly grippy surface, great for slippery yarn.. Not a slippery surface like the Addi Turbos.
I wasn't able to find much about these needles, even on the Knitter's Pride site. From what I gleamed from Etsy reviews they are readily available as KnitPro needles (UK version of Knitter's Pride) but hard to find in the US, so I decided to check the KnitPro site and actually found a product page for them. http://www.knitpro.eu/Materialwise-size-Details.asp?id=143&Language=English
However, I still haven't been able to figure out if they are compatible with the Dreamz cables... I am assuming they are? Hopefully? Because Zing stuff seems pretty hard to find in the US, which I also assume is why the shipping is so high on these.
This does seem to be a good deal, as I haven't seen them lower than the MSRP anywhere else... although I only found them on a handful of sites. I am on the fence... I committed to join, but may cancel. I really wish I knew how these compared to Addi Turbo, which I love. I am not a fan of the sharp metal tip needles, although I have only used ChiaoGoo's sharp tip metal ones. I love the more finger friendly tips of the Addi Turbos, as well as the smoother finish on the Addi.
So if anyone can speak to these questions, please do!

All KnitPro/Knitters Pride Sets use the same cables.
The Zing Interchangeable Needles are a new product (atleast for KnitPro) and have only been available for a few months (in Australia). they are a great priced set (at under $100aud) and sell out quickly. I haven't seen individual tips, only sets at this stage. This is the current special edition set (my friend sells KnitPro in Australia).
In my opinion the tips are sharper that the Turbo but not as sharp as the Chiaogoo and Hiyahiya sharps. But the needle is not as slick as the Addi Turbos - it is aluminium and great for slippery yarns. This is a great entry level IC needle set and not really similar at all to the turbos.
