These cases are a little sedate-looking to me. The guys over here at Wilton, need to get together with those guys over at Qilo, and see what they can do about put'n a bunch of little Pineapples all over these cases--you know, to spice 'em up a bit? Now that'd be a damn bag I'd buy!

Just got mine a couple days ago and started using it yesterday. Really nice bag for $35! Only a couple curiosities or disappointments that I can't be too critical of at this price, though at full price I would take issue.
  • As others have mentioned, the zippers do not glide all that smoothly all the time... though perhaps this will change with usage as someone else indicated
  • Only one pen holder versus three as indicated in the pictures... yes it is a bit larger and can accommodate two pens, but I like having individual slots (see pic of my bag)
  • Weird narrow pen slot in one of the outside pockets won't even accommodate my narrowest of pens... not sure what this is for... pencil, single knitting needle, single chopstick? (see pic)
Also wondering what the plastic bag inside one of the pockets is for... looks like it can be inflated somehow, perhaps for bag display purposes? (see pic) Cannot fit a pen in this slot in the outer pocket, this is as far as my narrowest pen will go:

Only one pen slit inside vs. the three shown in promo pictures... others receive one like this? Wondering if maybe these are B-stock/seconds.

Anyone else get an extraneous plastic bag?

Pretty sure that slot is where the secret assassin's ice pick goes--at least that's what the instructions said...

Is the hardware metal or plastic? Looks like metal, but just want to be sure.

Could the laptop pocket fit 2x 15 inch laptops? (XPS 15 stacked height ~45 mm)

Joined the last drop at $48 approx. WTH Massdrop? A 30% price drop two months later? Overall nice bag. Especially as a carry on, lets me bring all the important things in one bag - laptop and accessories, ANC headphones, tablet, e-reader, travel document pouch, glasses, wires, a/c adapters, camera (might need to detach lens from body), candies, scarf, beanie, water bottle... you get the idea. And there's still space! Large main compartment has pockets as well as a large zippered compartment for passports etc - extra precaution against important items accidentally slipping or falling out. One of the outer zippered pockets has an attached lanyard with a clip for your keys/light. Nice. I've only had one other bag with this feature. I Like to not have my keys in my pocket when I travel but not flailing about in some zippered case either. Just budget for a good strap, the one they provide is a joke in terms of practicality. I've been using Op/Tech's strap for the last 5 years and it's now on this bag. Haven't tried the Domke strap (recommended by deanr above )but don't feel the need to, the Op/Tech strap is IMO perfect - non-slip and 'rubber'(?) material stretches to distribute weight on shoulder. Most comfortable strap I've tried and looks like it'll last at least another 5 years easily.

Menace_EhMine is the SOS version. Sorry I do not have any experience with the mini or the curve options, but I'm a 5' 10" male with broad shoulders (not too slanting) and medium weight. I don't remember if there was a curve option when I purchased it, but it looks tempting. The rubber portion of the strap is about 2 3/4" wide by 10" long. Length of course is adjustable on both sides. Hope this helps.

How big is the large exterior compartment on the right side? I'm wondering if I can stick a water bottle in there.

Warranty coverage? Covered by Knomo's two-year warranty or not? For $5 extra, I may just purchase direct from Knomo to get the coverage (though on a $35 bag that may be a bit ridiculous).

Rec'd this bag today.  Really nice in almost every way.  Love the pockets and interior layout.  Good padding in laptop compartment.  Nice material.  Seems like quality construction.  But the zippers are junk.  Several really stick.  I imagine this will become very frustrating after just a little use and this bag will end up in the closet. Do not recommend. Nov 2028... Update this to a solid recommend for this bag.

deanrReplying to myself here. After several months of daily use the zippers have broken in, or something, and function without issue. Really a great bag for me. Still looks like it is new.

Nice deal for a  good looking bag.  $100 elsewhere.  Solid reviews, though most seem to call out zippers as being a bit less than optimal.
