Amazing quality
I have used this for 200 plus days of back country excursions now. Some with my pack weighing well over 150 pounds. This set has been a lifesaver and held up to everything I’ve thrown at them! I’d love to order another set!

Loved them, til I lost them.
Really liked these poles. Of the three different kinds I've now owned, these have been my favorites. They were great until I forgot them in the back of a pickup will getting a hitch on the AT last year... My only complaint was that over time I had to occasionally tighten the screws on the locks, because they didn't always hold if I didn't pay attention to them and keep them tightened. But I chock that up to general use and not a flaw in the product.

Over weight spec, over collapsed length spec. Grips are too narrow, hands felt tired after use.

Problems out of the box -

Received the C3 Compact Pros and attempted to set the correct tension on the clamp screws for my correct pole height in preparation for hiking. There was a problem. I started by backing off the screw all the way in the clamp and opening and closing the lever periodically as I tightened it down to the right tension - worked for the first three clamps with no issues; however, I noticed excessive wear on the last lever! The clamps appear to have curved square/rectangular metal washers between the clamps and their levers. These washers appear to assist the clamp-lever operation - possibly to extend the lives of the clamps by reducing friction and spreading out force from the lever. Well, one of these washers appears to be faulty or misshapen because it completely wore away at the metal on one of the levers by basically carving away at the aluminum every time the clamp was opened and closed. Even backing off the screw almost entirely now I am barely able to operate the lever because it appears the washer is misaligned somehow. After contacting massdrop support they offered me a refund, but I was hoping to get a pair of hiking poles and they have no stock to replace them. Alternatively I could warranty these with the MFG (within 3 years of manufacture and my poles were made 11/17) but I’d have to pay shipping, so I have very frustrating options with a new product I planned to have on an upcoming hike! Was really hoping to be able to keep these but it looks like I’ll be taking a refund and going with a different manufacturer.

SugarRayFollowing up on my own review. I ended up pursuing warranty through mfg. they quickly replaced the faulty lever/clamp on the affected pole and I’ve been using these ever since. They’ve been excellent and sturdy even though I use them at max extension 120mm. Every now and then I have to adjust the torque on the screws to make sure I get the perfect clamp for my height. A little blue loctite helps prevent this frequently. Another reviewer is correct in that they’re very difficult to close the lock during transport without messing with a screw. Generally I leave the clamps open when they’re not in use to prevent wear, but I have almost lost a pole this way (a tree I walked under got caught on it and pulled the section out!) and may start using a rubber band to secure them open. If I had to buy them again I would have gotten the longer pair to give me additional height for my trekking pole tent, although 120mm is recommended for most.

Very light, I've been using them for almost 2 years and had no problems so far with any feature. They have endured through mud, rocks, sand and anything in between. I'm pleased with them.

I have the compact pro set and just returned from a week long trip on the Overland trek in Tasmania. Used them on snow, ice, rock, mud and everything in between. Lightweight enough for me (i’m 5’2” and 100lbs) and lock securely.

there are not vey light and the locking mechanism does no t work when they are collapsed-- so the small section slides out. not nearly as light as my Black diamond Poles

SailfitInteresting mine lock rock-solid, did you adjust them properly? Since the bottom section tapers you must fully collapse it to engage the basket assembly. The molding for the basket piece has the girth to allow it to lock closed. Could be your bottom section lock needs a little more grip/lock adjustment. My pair is 14.5oz, what does your BD pair weigh and which model?

Light, rugged, easy to adjust on the fly when terrain changes, and grip is both comfortable and confident. Excellent purchase.

I have the Carbon Pro Compact and I love em. Super lightweight, which really does make a difference, durable, and the straps are comfortable enough to hike for days. I also like how small the compact ones can get. The flip locks have worked well, sometimes needing adjustment here and there, which is easily done.
