Inspired by athletes’ spirit of adventure, Austria’s Komperdell has been making ski poles and other alpine gear since 1922. This is the company’s Explorer Contour Powerlock Compact: a lightweight, robust trekking pole that works well as a snowshoe pole when larger snow baskets are swapped in. Featuring a 7075-T6 aluminum construction, an Expedition Contour grip, and a padded strap, it’ll keep you moving without weighing you down. Additional features include a Powerlock 3.0 locking mechanism, a Vario trekking basket, and a tungsten/carbide flex tip. Weighing 7.5 ounces, each three-section pole has an adjustable length from 22.8 to 47.2 inches and packs down to just 26 inches.
