"Made possible by the Audiophile community" Having these headphones listed under Audiophile drops is... amusing.

erickongInteresting, but the writer seems to give these a lot of points for being cheap and thus easily replaceable. With this view, wouldn't an $8 Panasonic RP-HT21 be an even better choice?

YirgThanks for using the hyperlink feature! But idk, I've never listened to the Panasonic's.

erickongCheap and sound good? Check. Durable? Kind of. My 9 yo has gone through three in the past year. My 11 yo has gone through two. I'm buying three more. They use them to play Fortnite. I figure I could buy more expensive headsets, but until I see a set advertised as being indestructible, it seems like I'd be wasting my money. I'm waiting for the "subscribe and save" on these.

LazySundaysWouldn't it be more cost effective in the long run to buy headphones that are more heavy duty than the KPH30i? Even if they cost more, if you don't need to replace them as often it might be worthwhile.

MatagalpaNot sure. I'm hesitant to buy more expensive headphones for my kids knowing that there's a good chance, they'll destroy them. When I look at the Koss KPH30i, they seem like they should be fairly durable, but in the hands of my sons, that hasn't proven to be the case. Also, I have looked at gaming headsets and most are over-ear. I like the fact that the Koss's are on-ear and pretty open, so I don' t have to yell. The points of failure have been broken 3.5 mm jack x3, broken plastic arm, and chewed away plastic/rubber cord covering. (Yes, my children are like animals.) So I guess if I could find these headphones made of steel, titanium, or adamantium, and with reinforced cables, that would be perfect! After my little monsters destroy these next three sets, I will probably try to find some cheap-ish bluetooth gaming headsets and see if they last longer.

YirgWhy shouldn't they be listed as audiophile?

LazySundaysYou're might be better off getting a more durable one with detachable cables. Check these out! They're cheaper and will definitely las.t longer: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=8323

je.juneThanks! I actually have the Monoprice 8323. The replaceable cable is great! But the over-ear thing is problematic. (Also, I don't think Monoprice sells a replacement cable with in-line mic... which is weird.) I found $11 headphones w/in-line mic on Amazon and they are adequate, but with their ears fully covered, my kids can't really hear me or my wife calling for them from downstairs. I guess I could get their attention by turning off the wifi.

LazySundaysBut why do you let your kids keep breaking stuff you buy them? I get these are cheap to replace, but it doesn't sound like your kids appreciate/take care of what they have been given. Not trying to sound preachy/judgmental, but this wouldn't have flown in the house I grew up in.

RiflemanFirstErm... Despite your best efforts, you sound a little bit preachy and quite a bit judgmental. I grew up appreciating my stuff. I haven't found it to be a super-great way to live. The Koss's build quality is appropriate for the price. They just weren't really meant for 8-11 year olds. The crappy Amazon headphones I mentioned above have been more durable... still mostly plastic, but more of it. Sound quality may be worse and the drivers and mic may not last, but the cable sheathing and plastic bits are thicker.

erickongI love them too. More than my PortaPro's in fact. I don't think listing them in the Audiophile drop is out of line. They're fantastic headphones, way above anything else for even double the price.
