I would caution any mass drop user from buying this stove. When I saw the video with the fuel line and valve it was obvious. Then the liquid fuel pump gave it away instantly as to the orgin of the kit. Do not buy this if you are looking for a reliable "expedition" or anything stove. I previously purchase a stove that used these very same parts. And wow the build quality was so poor it as sad. This is a very poorly made china stove dont trust your trip and life with it. Buy a msr as the customer service is awesome

camshaftThanks for your option, however, could you elaborate on why it became obvious after seeing the fuel line and the valve? I mean what became obvious, that it is a bad stove? The pump does not strike me as being a bad pump either. I am interested in this drop, but I would like to know why Kovea is not reliable.

Vincent-C@camshaft - it's comical that you derided this stove for appearing cheap, incorrectly assumed it's made in China, while simultaneously praising MSR. Kovea stoves are made in South Korea, are extremely well-regarded and Kovea is actually the manufacturer for all MSR and Snow Peak stoves.
Kovea is not so well known in the US but you'll find they have a great reputation among those who have their stoves. Go read the discussions in other Kovea drops, forums on BPL or blogs like Adventures In Stoving.
@Vincent-C : Read up, decide for yourself and ignore the troll.

PatCThanks @PatC for your help - I have been reading since the drop started I am not familiar with the fuel stoves at all. But I have just read on some forum the same as you have stated here.

Vincent-CI don't know about this stove, but the Kovea spider is highly respected stove in the ultra light backpacking community and prefered over other MSR stoves. For multi-fuel I'd also look at Optimus Nova+ or Polaris, but more expensive. No stove is perfect and YMMV.

rich99There is a chinese made stove the BRS-8 often called the Booster. It is a similar design although the legs are different and the hose detaches from the stove. They are much cheaper. I don't have either stove but I have used Kovea products before and they are quite well regarded.
