What do you get when a master bladesmith designs a knife for one of the premier knife manufacturers in the world? An elegant, highly functional edge to last a lifetime Read More
It's $281 on Amazon so the discount is still there but not from $380 as stated. You are saving 40 bucks. I bought mine a while back, it's an amazing knife but you need to take care of it, wash and try after each use, occasional oil on the blade and handle as well.
SocrateaseJust arrived. Haven't used it yet, but, wow, this thing looks awesome! Strong build with every curve designed for getting work done. I'm not normally impressed with the factory edge since I usually do my own, but this one is mirror-bright, probably stropped. It needs a 2-3/8" slot or wider. I ordered some camellia oil from Amazon for maintenance, but there's a small vial of oil that comes in the box.
I have a (real) Bob Kramer tool steel chef's knife. As a lifelong knife guy, I can say it's in a class by itself. If you spring for one, you won't regret it.
FuzzIt's not as if you can just go to his website and buy one of his knives if you have the money anymore either. The price isn't even the first barrier.
I have the 10" version of this knife, if you're still considering it, just do it!
Wicked sharp out of the box. Just be aware that carbon steel requires some maintenance, keep it clean and dry, and be really vigilant about it especially before you've built up a patina on it.
