loved this lil cup, but a hard fall broke the handle
not necessarily the cup's fault, but the resin handles definitely aren't shock-proof. I filed down the nub and drilled a new hole so I wouldn't have to toss it

Kupilka cups are a time-honored design, with updated materials. The wood+resin composite they are made of does "hold onto" flavors (like coffee or soup) more than plastic, but less than the traditional wood ... uh, would. The design is perfect for a steady, easy grip, and the capacity of the "regular" size, though small by US standards, is perfect, as it's easy to drink the whole cup before needing to set it down. It's also just the right size for a drink of water on the trail ... it encourages me to drink without gulping, and without drinking too much at once. I've replaced the jute-fiber twine that keeps the spoon and cup attached to each other with separate paracord loops; it's easy to feed the spoon inside the loop on the cup handle to "daisy-chain" the together, and then I can hang them on my pack without to much swing-iness.

Pretty great overall
Picked up a cup (with spoon) and bowl a couple of months ago and have used them regularly at home and once camping. Pros: aesthetically pleasing, comfortable to hold, relatively light weight, bowl is a good size for a variety of foods. Cons: spoon is small and delicate and snapped in half after a couple of weeks of use; wood fibers in material absorb strong flavors, so not the best as your only eating vessel for both chili and oatmeal. Overall these have really grown on me. I reach for them more than my other bowls and plan to buy more for myself and as gifts.

Bought them just because they're fun. I'll keep them in the van for camping or use them around the house.

I already had the kupilka “silverware” set and loved it and wanted the cup very badly. But it was not available on Amazon in the color and size I wanted so when I saw the drop for it, I immediately joined. I think because my expectations were so high, I was a little disappointed when the cup came. I had bought the larger one and it’s BIG! I had not expected it to be quite so large. So I used it once for coffee and then went back to my regular ceramic coffee cup. I thought I might use it occasionally or use it as a small bowl but didn’t think it would replace my old standby. But then a funny thing happened. My old cup just didn’t feel right anymore. I missed the Kupilka cup and started using it full time. Yes, it does get hot, too hot to hold comfortably with your bare hand if you’re holding the body. But the handle stays cool and you can carry it comfortably at any temperature. And if it’s too hot to hold, it’s too hot to drink, anyway. I love the handle and how you cradle the cup in your hand, or hands, and the bowl-like feel of it. I like the composite material, and how soft and quiet it is if you set it down on a hard surface. I love the hole in the handle for hanging it, which I always do, on a hook under the cupboard, where it’s always handy. I also bought the bowl and the spork and my experience with the spork was the same as the cup. I thought it was okay but that I wouldn’t use it much, but I find myself reaching for it all the time. It sits comfortably in the hand, is long enough to reach deep into a pot or backpacking meal bag and doesn’t make a scratchy metallic noise when scraping out metal cookware. I use the bowl the least, just because I don’t need a bowl that often, but when I do use it, I enjoy it very much. It’s light-weight and the handle turns it into a bowl/cup that makes eating anything out of it a pleasure. The only thing left to buy now is the platter, which I probably will eventually. It’s not the lightest weight stuff you can take backpacking, but it’s great to use around the house and on camping/backpacking trips where weight isn’t the main concern. I love all my Kupilka things and highly recommend them!

Fun gear. Did I NEED it? No. But, I LIKE the little cup with its tiny spoon and the bowl. It looks cool and I enjoy using it—probably more so at home and at the office than on the trail where I really have to prioritize what I weigh my pack down with.

These are really cool cups, but it's important you know what you're buying! These are made of a composite, which means they are lightweight, which is great. However, you can't cook in them. They also aren't very packable due to their size.
But if you're looking for a lightweight, traditionally-styled cup to use on the trail, or at home, these are perfect.

J.01Tips over easily, spoon is too small and illformed for my use, not very useful items. Bought two for camping, neither gets much use. One cup is in my dog food bowl as a scoop.

Nice insulation, easy to hang off a pack, works well for hot coffee or whiskey and water. A little heavy and prone to spilling. I like it better than plastic or metal, more durable than glass. I’m Still using it after 2 years
