This fake Andromeda is disgusting. Why does Campfire not do lawsuit on KZ? Just because they fear losing in the Chinese? Doesn't have to be like that. KZ can you stop faking and make some stuff that audiophiles will appreciate?

zhouharveyBecause when you say make some stuff that audiophiles will appreciate(because you speak for all audiophiles) If theses sound good to me(an audiophile for over 30 years) then why is it up to you to say they are shit and fakes, I guess when the first headphones were made every other pair were fakes and not worth buying you sound like a spoiled baby

zhouharveyWell, to sue them they'd have to go to a chinese court, and the last time someone said "Chinese copyright law is somewhat lax", they got put in Merriam-Webster as an example of "understatement"

zhouharveyHere are a few things from the industrial world.
* Campfire has signed an agreement with a Chines manufacturing company / companies. * Campfire was given the lowest possible production price per unit under the soul condition that the manufacturing companies will be allowed to create their own spin-off the same model (in this case we're talking about the Andromeda model) once R&D expenses have been completely paid off by the product sales and with a margin of extra to fill up the R&D budget for the next possible project. * Campfire's revenue will not be affected due to the fact that the IEM's are hand assembled in USA and is an ensured quality product with a very unique warranty philosophy Direct quote from the website : “So for instance if a truck runs over your IEM I will repair or replace them for parts cost and shop time for the repair. (proof of purchase required)” * Campfire will recover their expenses and will continue with their next model development without worrying about the copy cats.
The following is a simple VERY, VERY, VERY common business practice that MANY manufactures engage in.
In fact, you're paying for craftsmanship, quality and service when you're buying a Campfire product.
It should not even concern you if these IEM's are sold here on Massdrop, as the quality you get is completely different from what you bought at Campfire .

Not everything is as you may perceive it to be.

FiR3KI agree completely with your assessment. I do not have any experience with Campfire, so cannot comment as compared to KZ but have a similar experience elsewhere. My all-time favorite daily IEM is the Velodyne vPulse. The MSRP, before they were discontinued, was $115, with the cosmetically updated version coming in at $119. I am on my third pair because I ran over the first two with my office chair - stupid, I know. I will probably buy another for posterity. I came across a thread on Head-Fi, stating that the DONSCORPIO Bass Colour ($29 on Penon Audio) was the OEM for the vPulse. At first I was ticked, then intrigued. I bought a pair. Suffice it to say they are not in the same league. I am sure the same is true of Campfire vs KZ.
