Can anyone speak on the quality of this pen-folio, as well as how safe it keeps the pens? I.E. do the pens touch/rub inside the case next to each other, do the touch front side to back side when closed, etc.?

BloozyyI have not purchased this case but I do have a leather one of similar design . The double elastic loops will keep pens in place and the felt divider will keep pens from rubbing against each other. I can tell you that you will find similar cases cheaper elsewhere. Hope this helps.

BloozyyI have a set of cases that look exactly like this one - I bought them a couple of years ago from a different site. In my experience, they are not optimized for larger diameter pens, including Lamy, Monteverde, Pelikan, Retro 51, etc. They will touch, but that can be minimized by watching placement of the clip. Having the fabric that rests between the two halves does help. Long term: I had one with a zipper that broke - threw it out. The remainder all have issues with the elastic, which stretches over time. Once that happens, the pens get floppy in the case, increasing the chance for damage. Also, unless you had a short pen on the outside near the zippers, it is hard to put a pen there and feel good about it. Many of these features have fatal flaws and I believe you will find them in any pen case of similar design. For what it's worth, my larger cases (like these Laban ones) have never traveled and have only been used for storage - and yet they still had problems.
Personally, my best long term storage options are a couple of wood pen cases from Levenger (one upright, one horizontal) and old cigar boxes that have been lined in felt. I have a couple of portable pen cases for travel - one leather Levenger case that holds 4 pens and one from Nock that is less formal.
