It seems odd to comment that a blade made of titanium would "rarely, if ever, need sharpening". Given that most titanium alloys are softer than most steel alloys, the edge will be more prone to becoming misaligned and deformed

Eh, I wouldn't put it past people. Plenty of stuff is shit made with fantastic aesthetics. It also might just be a titanium coating over blade steel as a way to remove friction while cutting, such as advertised on many Fiskars products. If so, they should say that though.
