I have one of these, as in the non anniversary version of the G109. I'm pretty happy with it, I have a pair of 250 ohm Beyer Dynamic 990's and its a super match. I also have a pair of HiFi 560, while they are better head phones, the Beyer 990 and the Lake people G109 is a good match. I paid $525.00 for mine so this is a fair deal. I need to say I got this as a match for my Audioquest night hawk's and am pretty happy. They are much more expensive that the Beyer' 990 so its expected to hear a better combo,, Im just trying to say I was surprised how good the Beyer 990 and Lake people go together. This is much more refined a sound than the Schiit Asgard 2 ( which i traded in for a Schiit Mjolnir 2). To do better you need to drop close to a grand and then get something like the Resonessance HP which is a Dac / Amp or go whole hog and get the mjolnir 2, amp only, which is an end game headphone amp, BUT its strictly made for balanced out put. At 389.00 , if that's what it ends up being, this is more than fair value, AND you can live with this with out worring about upgrading. FYI the Beyer Dynamic DT 990- 250 ohm are fairly cheap as well, like 250$. Lots of power. If i had one complaint it's that the gain switches are internal. ( so you have to unscrew the top) I have 5 pr head from 32 ohm to 600 ohm phone so I only use two on this as normally you would want the gain on the exterior. To get that on the Lake people / Violectris you need to spend a lot more. Another $60 and you get a Schiit Lyr2. Thats pretty sweet, tubes ( don't get the SS as well , just use the tubes as thats what its made for) and it got an exterior switchable gain if you need it. Id honestly say its 6 of one and half dozen of the other. I just wanted to say if you got a pair of DT 900 snag this one, you will be happy.
