dsmit125Most audiophile speaker amps have bridged outputs available (what we refer to as a balanced headphone connection), yet only RCA inputs. The term 'balanced' is improperly used or misunderstood when it comes to headphone amplifiers. Both channels have their own isolated ground (+ - Left and + - Right) from input to headphone output. Layman's terms is that the RCA connection of the LP HPA RS 08 doesn't limit the headphone connection in any way.

dsmit125The primary function of a balanced input is to eliminate noise that is picked up on the way to the amp. Since the RS 08 is typically used with a DAC that sits only a foot away, there's no need for a balanced input.
On the other hand, if you really believe in balanced design, then you need an amp that's balanced from input to output. There are very few of those.
