Um, can we talk about the outright LIE that is in the description? 6063 is not "aerospace grade" aluminum. To wit:
"AA 6063 is an aluminium alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements. The standard controlling its composition is maintained by The Aluminum Association. It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable. It is similar to the British aluminium alloy HE9. " -from Wikipedia
"6063 is commonly referred to as an architectural alloy. It has a high resistance to corrosion with excellent finishing characteristics. 6063 has average machinability and forming hot or cold is acceptable. Also due to its conductivity it is utilized in electrical substations. Commonly used in the manufacture of pipe railings, furniture, windows, and in stair rails." - from TW Metals product specifications page
Do the copywriters at MD not know that Google exists? This is insulting to us, and to the other people at Massdrop that do a good job representing the products honestly. Sure we understand that you want to give ad copy conceptual glitter and pop, but that is no excuse for bald-face lies or misleading ad copy that I have seen over and over in certain categories, particularly MK.
Edit: I'm trying to give you guys the benefit of the doubt here, so if this is because the drop coordinator simply reproduced the producer's own copy that is one thing, but still the copy should at least be proofed for factual accuracy before posting.

beesingsNot that MD needs me to defend them.. but also from wikipedia's list of "aerospace aluminum": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_alloy#List_of_aerospace_aluminium_alloys
You will see 6063 in that list of Aerospace Aluminums.
Not that it really matters IMO at least.. Aerospace Aluminum, Surgical Stainless Steel.. these are all gimmicks.

breitling88I suppose that would give them a modicum of plausible deniability, but every other documentation I could find for 6063 suggested that it was a standard architectural alloy that is also good for anodizing. 6061 is listed as a general purpose 'aircraft aluminum,' but nowhere else could I find 6063 listed as 'aerospace grade.' The only reason I decided to call them out on this is because of an ongoing pattern of misleading or overhyped description copy since I joined a year and a half or so ago.

beesingsWhether the aluminum is aerospace grade or not is irrelevant when the metal is being used in this way. Unless you've figured out how to fly using a keyboard case, you are straight up nitpicking.
