Consider this ...
MassDrop is a start-up co. They've paid a 'distributor' for 200+ pens, and that transaction can be in dispute (D says: we shipped it and we keep the $$; MD says: you shipped it to the wrong place and we need the refund right now. D says: sue me).
In addition, MD would owe us everything that we paid them. Do they have the extra cash to refund 100% to us? They could easily be $35,000 out of pocket between us and the distributor.
Does anybody know anything about the financial soundness of this company?

GregWritesYou make a great point. I don't want my money back, just my pen. Good grief.
I do have a right to be upset though, and I'm not going to be upset by elitist naysayers (not you)
The "freebie" is not something I feel that I deserve at all. I just think that it would be a very nice way of the distributor to apologize for a mistake that never should have happened. They should not have told Massdrop an estimate without enough pens to cover the shipment. (Backorder delay 1) There is also no denying that shipping this large number of pens to the wrong location is a big mistake that should not have been made.
Sorry for the long post, however I wanted to let you know the comment you made was super accurate and relevant, and that I appreciate the perspective.
The rest of the stuff, is just a generic. I'm not looking for a debate, but I think there are some folks who are way too worked up about a Fountain Pen that none of us NEED. After all, we all participated because we had an interest in a fountain pen, not because we were bored, and were looking for a way to senselessly argue over something already done.
