Got mine Today, over near Seattle So I'm assuming we should all get them this week.
does anyone else feel like theirs is 'dusty?' i'm surprised to see some brown, muttled color rather than a matte black over a lot of the pen...

JonasHeinemanyeah it's totally good!
I'm a bit envious of an EF Nib though, curious: did they just run out during the drop? I couldn't select EF, asked earlier but never got a response.

dyvogYes; if they were not available to select at check-out, then our allotment of EF ran out before the drop ended. If you'd like to be put in touch directly about an exchange, please contact Customer Support. Regardless, I'm glad the dust went away and the pen is otherwise to your satisfaction.

dyvogHmmm.... I'm curious about this dust thing.
I got two pens during the last drop, a fine and a medium, and and then an extra fine from Amazon. They are fantastic. I really love just about everything about them.
All my 2000s, every single one, had some slight brown streaking in certain parts of the plastic. I was surprised at first, but it does add some nice variation. None of it looks bad, or like a defect. More like random pattern detail. You can actually see it on the cap in the picture at the top if you look closely.
I'm assuming this is normal as every pen I got had some degree of this. Even the one from Amazon.
This isn't what you're talking about when you mentioned brown dust on the pen, is it?

K.T.NOf the three nibs for this pen which do you prefer? For normal ballpoint or rollerball pens I prefer medium points, This is my first fountain pen and I selected medium, on my purchase. Would like to gauge your opinion or any one else who's joined the drop.

DRAZYLamy nibs tend to run wider than other pens. I would chose a fine to get a medium line. Depending on how big or small you write and also the paper you use, I would probably get a Fine so you can get a medium line like your rollerball. Since this is your first FP, I would suggest using very very light pressure or no pressure at all to write with this pen as the ink will flow out. I would suggest a lower priced FP so you don't waste all the money if you don't like the way a fountain pen writes. Also, there is no ink that comes with the pen, unless you chose the ink at checkout. Also, Lamy inks are not waterproof, so don't go signing checks with the pen with a lamy ink. Get a bulletproof ink from noodlers or an iron gall ink. Once you get the pen, you will be surprised at how a fountain pen writes and how smooth it is.

pratik.patelThanks so much for the recommendations! I plan on picking up the pen wit a fine nib and ordering a bottle of Noodler's Luxury Blue and American Eel. I'd used a fountain pen some time ago and have become partial to the semi-hooded nibs. This fountain pen gets high marks in every review I've read so I play on adding it to my stable of writing instruments.
