Product Description
Featuring the same body shape and ergonomic grip as the beloved Al-Star, the LAMY Lx fountain pen takes everything else up a notch—after all, the “Lx” stands for “luxe.” It’s made of anodized aluminum plated in your choice of gold, palladium, rose gold, or ruthenium, with the metal clip and all accents plated to match. Mine got cancelled as well after waiting for so long. Utterly disappointed as this is not a limited edition run.

DurandelThey sent out a cancellation hmm... let me check that out.... I think there is lot of competition between EndlessPens and Drop I just got an email from EndlessPens that they had dropped the price of the Lamy LX on their Hop Drop page. If mine is cancelled I’ll jay get it from there at a cheaper price

Am curious about the finish "It’s made of anodized aluminum plated in your choice of gold, palladium, rose gold, or ruthenium" This implies, at least to me, that is plated in actual metal, of gold, palladium, rose gold, or ruthenium. When read about on Lamy web, there is small yet important change. "aluminium anodised in rose gold colour". Same word change for all of the colours. Seems to me this is a gold colour, not actual gold. As this really the same as the AL-star Fountain pen, I'm not clear on how these are different, other than the more luxury metal look.

MBS9There are four differences between the Lx and AL-star, and the body of the pen isn't one of them apart from the colors available:
  1. The finial on the Lx cap is plated with precious metal, and the same color as the body, albeit shiny and not with the body's matt finish (the AL-star's finial is black plastic).
  2. The end plug on the Lx body is plated with precious metal, and the same color as the body, albeit shiny and so it stands out against the body's matt finish (the AL-star's end plug is black plastic).
  3. The clip on the Lx is plated with precious metal and matches the color and texture of the finial and end plug (it's shiny) - the AL-star clip is non-plated aluminum and silver in color.
  4. The steel nib on the Lx (Z52) PVD coated and polished to a glossy black and laser etched with a fine art-deco gold-colored stripe around the breather hole and tine slit - the AL-star nib (Z50) is either black or silver monotone.
Edit: I suppose the other main difference is that the Lx ships in it's own single pen rounded 'case', also made from aluminum. https://www.lamy.com/en/lamy-lx/
https://www.lamy.com/en/lamy-nib-guide/ I have 2 safaris, 2 AL-stars, 2 Lxs. See my other note regarding the Lx nib not writing the same as the AL-star / safari nibs. While I love the look of the Lx nib, I find the writing experience of the Z50 nibs on the AL-stars and safaris to be superior (the Z52 writes like a nail - while it's not scratchy, there's zero bounce to be had).

eesparzaJust think--if you would have bought two of them, you would have saved $6.00! On the other hand, had you had the foresight to purchase 130,000 of them, you could have used the savings buy a new house. Bummer--if only!

Did I read somewhere that this was not shipping until July 8? Received notice order has shipped, not that I am complaining if it shipped earlier than expected. Just that other orders have taken 'forever'.

I'm new to using fountain pens, and am a bit confused. What's the converter used for? I may have misunderstood the loading video, I thought we just slide the ink cartridge in. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Also any tips as well!

OdracirThe converter is just so that you can used bottled ink. Lamy pens also take their proprietary cartridges, which you can buy online.
