The Safari is a great entry-level FP. I've bought a few for friends who wanted to get their first FP but didn't want to spend hundreds. I have a Safari and an Al-Star that I take to classes. The fine nib isn't quite as fine as some other brands, but it is a good thickness for everyday writing.
Would it be possible to offer the FP only without the MP? I got a rotring 800 from an earlier drop so I doubt the Lamy would see much use...
How does the Safari compare to the Pilot Metropolitan? Build quality, nib size, smoothness...?

SeaskimmerPilot hands down makes the smoothest pens out there from the gel pens, ball point, and fountain pens. For a starter fountain pen the pilot metropolitan is the smoothest nib. The quality is ok, i give it a 4 star out of 5 just for the simple fact that its very thin metal and doesn't weigh as much as a safari. Now the safari is pretty unique because of the grip and holds very nicely for my liking. It reminds me of being in school and always having a pencil grip but on a fountain pen.
*Just as a side note i am comparing a fine point for the pilot metropolitan and extra fine lamy vista "safari"
