SythrixYep... soap and water, so your diamond stone rusts right away. I use diamond lapping fluid by trend with my three 8" ultra-sharp diamond stones.

InfiniteGooseNo, use honing oil. It helps to create a slurry to aid in sharpening (much like water would), but won't rust your expensive diamond stones.
