Every order has shipped today! You'll be getting confirmation from Massdrop within a day or so; but they have been delivered to the post office this morning and will begin movement tonight.
Thanks again everyone!

Hey everyone just wanted to thank you all for a successful drop! We are on schedule to ship 4/20/18 and nothing will change that unless my fingers fall off. Currently finished the darkened stone wash models and they're looking great. All that's left is to assemble them and package everything. I will alert Massdrop when they ship and they will update you all with your tracking I assume.
Thanks again! I hope you all enjoy my fun little tool :)

Will this work on twist-off caps (which seem to be 80 to 90 percent of the market and would seem to render this drop moot)?
RayFI don't see why it wouldn't unless you are collecting caps. As prying off a twist cap will bend them. The tool, however, serves multiple purposes so I can't see it being "moot". Lots of bottle openers still on the market and lots of non twist caps ready to be pried off!
Thanks for your comment.

Would love one...in steel though sorry.
chancingDefinitely in the wheel-house! Currently the steel my machinist gets has a lot of stress inside of it so when he starts machining parts as large as my tool it can cause bends and warps. Once we sort out the issue I'd like to bring steel back in to the mix for this tool. For now though; Aluminum has held up throughout my years of testing and is also extremely lightweight to carry in your pocket.
Appreciate the comment!

These went for $76 when it’s was Kickstartered in 2016. I have one, and it’s handy and works well.
OverloadMy, how far we have come! So cool to hear from original supporters again :) These are now CNC made right here in the USA (Ohio to be exact).

Like others have said...aluminum bottle openers get chewed up by steel bottle caps. So will the “pry-bar” I assume. I would buy if made from SS or titanium.

mecengThe 2016 Kickstarter units used A2 steel.
mecengThis is true but to an extent. The caps will chew up the pry jaws, a bit, but nothing where it will stop working or will be incredibly deformed. I tested aluminum in my own personal model for a couple years before introducing it to the public and despite a couple dings it's still holding up perfectly. Most of those mass produced bottle opener key chains are aluminum as well but not designed like this. They will last a very long time :)
Copper, Brass, and Steel are definitely in the foreseeable future though! Ti if I can find a way to bring prices low enough (it's very expensive unless made in China).
Thanks for the comment!

I'm delighted to see this pop up on Massdrop! I own a few of Ryan's products and they're top notch. I have to say he's really a nice guy and he's great to chat with and replies instantly to any issues that you might have.
I have the steel version of this tool and I've used it extensively for the last couple of years and has held up great.
Hopefully there'll be more LCKT products on Massdrop in the future! (Still need to replace my brass micro tool that I lost)
PTrainorAppreciate the comment and thank you for your support! I hope to bring steel in to production soon, we are just figuring out an issue with the steel my machinist gets.

Is aluminum the best choice of materials? Why not titanium or even stainless steel?
mahpI'd love to use titanium but to have it made in the USA is extremely expensive. I would have to outsource to china to make an affordable Ti tool or I would have to make them personally (which I do) but they're much much much more expensive due to the risks of working with the material. I will say I have tested aluminum in my personal model for about two years before introducing it to the public. It holds up really well in the design and is barely noticeable while carrying in your pocket compared to Steel.
Steel is coming soon we just have to work out some kinks with the supplier.
Thanks for your comment :)

LakecountyknifeandtoolI personally dont mind if you outsource as long as the QC is there.
