Hi everyone! Mike from Leather Works here. It is not illegal to do this to U.S. Currency. However, it is illegal if you try to change the denomination of the coin. You may also want to do a google search for "Hobo Nickels", as they fall into a similar category. There are also thousands of "penny press" machines out there which will flatten a penny and embossed it with a design.
These are precision Coin Tops which spin for several minutes. I have achieved over 6 minutes spins with both the quarter and half dollar versions of these Coin Tops.
