Product Description
Leatherman has earned a solid reputation for making some of the highest quality, sturdiest tools on the market. The Signal is one of the larger models in the Leatherman collection, offering 19 tools in a compact package Read More
No scissors, no deal. Hammer reasonable idea but just need flat reinforced surface, not large awkwardly shaped protrusion. Integrated clip waste of space. If need it, attach lanyard loop and clip sized as needed (like quick draw).
The Signal is an eccentric tool, and I agree with many of the comments here. A few of the tools are duds. It's terrible one-handed. Etc. However, it has a couple traits that I like. One is that the built-in sharpener has saved me a couple times. The other aspect that is valuable is the hammer. The combination of bit-driver, pliers, wirecutter, wirestripper, and hammer makes it a more complete toolkit for me. The hammer is the part that's missing from many other multitools, and that addition allows the Signal to serve as a catch-all for anything I need to do. I've used it to fix 3D printers & CNCs, rig up Arduinos and Raspberry Pis, and in various artistic fabrications and installations, not to mention general stuff around the house.
I'm a huge leatherman wave fan. I've used one everyday for many years at work as a technician. I'm also an outdoorsman and was looking for something more outdoorsy so , I thought this would be perfect. I do use often but here are some of the things I don't like about it. I wish it had the scissors they would be very useful for fishing line. When using the bit driver the handle won't close because the hammer is in the way. Its useable but awkward. You can slice your thumb open with the seated portion of the blade if your not careful something about the shape of this blade is different about how the thumb rolls across the slot. The blade is this thick and strong, the hammer has been useful.

Like I said I do use this leatherman it has broken in well and is loose and functional just wish it was better design.
I have one, really wanted to like it, but am just not a fan. On mine the blade is set far too tightly to open one handed. It's quite chunky and pretty darn heavy. I purchased the Signal to replace a Skeletool I lost in Iceland, but ended up never carrying the Signal and bought a second Skeletool.
If you're planning on EDCing the Signal I'd say forget it! Of course no tool is perfect. I wish the Skeletool had a can opener, but I carry my Skeletool everyday. This Signal just sits in my dresser drawer taking up space.
Also, this drop doesn't seem like much of a deal. I believe I got my Signal for $80 from Campmor with a coupon.
