:-) When I first read it, I thought it was Lecia Colourblind. Need to get better glasses.

Leica and Zeiss make the best optics out there....IMHO. Looks like a solid drop to me!

But you are aware that Schott is a Zeiss company, right? Zeiss on some of its binoculars (Victory HT is one example) is stating that is using Schott optics.

JDM_BeebstaOf course....what's wrong with that? It's still made by SCHOTT. Is there a point you're attempting to make?

The street price is $850, $780 for the regular black leather version or $730 for the rubber-armored version. They are excellent, but I would also consider the $750 new Zeiss Victory Compact 8x25.

What the write up doesn't say is that these are possibly the finest compact binoculars in the world. When they were introduced at the British Bird Fair a few years ago, they won top honors (1st place), even even when compared to larger binoculars from other manufacturers.

ahboykinActually, I purchased this set (in black) from B&H Photo back in 1990. These are precision made and are still in excellent condition. I will pass these down to my grandson some day!
