Edit: nevermind, I saw it five seconds after I hit submit =/ It is, for some reason, on the OTHER disk.

m_duranMy code isn't working.. I have no experience with this type of hardware since I've always just used an amp and recorded it so I'd like to try this out.

Got mine yesterday. I don't have much experience with recording, so can't compare to anything else (except taking the output from my guitar amp and plugging it into my laptop and recording - which doesn't really count, it was so bad).
I'm only using this to record music I play on my guitar, and mix some with backing vocals / tracks found online. I love the real time direct feedback with no delay (instrument -> Alpha -> Headphones). Even after applying effects the delay is not substantial (instrument -> Alpha -> USB -> effects processing in Cubase on laptop -> USB -> Alpha -> Headphones), it's okay if you're just playing and not recording. For recording definitely switch the playback from the computer off.
I can see this more or less replacing my amp completely for the time being, since I stay with others and have to wear headphone while playing anyway. With this I have a better preamp and amp than what the Line 6 Spider III 30 offers.
Overall, I'm happy. I'm sure I'll get to know about shortcomings, if any, once I grow and get better. But for now, I'm content.

Another update for the group. I talked to the vendor earlier today and they confirmed that these were shipped out on 2/27. These are now on the way to our warehouse and should arrive before the end of this week, as long as weather conditions in the Northeast permit. I will update the group as soon as the Massdrop warehouse team confirms that these have arrived at our warehouse in New Jersey.

Quick update for the group. The vendor is finishing packing the group's order and getting freight pick-up arranged. These should go out in the next day or so and should arrive at our warehouse early next week. I will be talking to the vendor to see if these can go out late afternoon tomorrow so we can get these into our warehouse a day earlier. Regardless I will keep you all updated until your receive confirmation that these are on their way to you.

Ugh I was under the assumption this would use a condensor mic mxl990. My son is gonna use this for recording. Anyway to use that mic wth this an add on piece? I have asked about cancelling but it appears I am too late. I am a dope should have asked more questions the guy I talked to on youtube said no problem I now see otherwise.

I've had one of these for several years now. To clarify some misinformation - the Alpha is a USB sound card that can record with either the one line & instrument input OR the 2 line inputs (not both simultaneously). As noted above there's no phantom power, so only non-condenser mics will work directly. While I've had driver issues with older OSes, it works flawlessly in Win 8.1.
