I don't understand why anyone would buy this. You can pick up a 144hz 27" asus monitor from amazon for about $250-300. Facts are 60hz monitors just don't cut it these days and arent really worth the money. And yes the 144 makes a huge difference.

Nightf0xxBecause not everyone games or buys a monitor strictly for gaming. This monitor is IPS and has over 99% coverage of the sRGB spectrum. This is a lot better for photo and video editing than the TN Asus monitor.

KRZslayeri really don't mean to be rude but your comment made me laugh "over 99% srgb spectrum" ......why not just say 100%? The only reason that would even matter is if you are doing photo editing. And if you are there are still better choices for cheaper just saying.

Nightf0xxI don't mean to be rude but just because it's over 99% doesn't mean it's 100%, think about it a little lol. If it was 100%, they'd advertise it as that. Do you have any examples of better monitors for cheaper? It's hard to find one that's over 72% sRGB for under $200 (unless you get LG's 25" Ultrawide Monitor).

Nightf0xxThat ASUS is absolute garbage by today's standards and should be avoided. There are far better options even for 144hz gamers in that price range.
The ASUS has poor color presets and, even after calibration, leaves a lot to be desired compared to modern TN panels even. It has a thicker matte coating than today's TN and IPS panels, which degrades image quality. It uses PWM dimming which is known to cause headaches/eyestrain.
As for me, I purchased this LG because we're mounting it on, possibly IN a wall, so the near frameless bezel on all sides makes it fit better with our decor. The IPS panel means decent quality from most angles. It's going to be a TV w/Chromecast built it for when my autistic daughter is in her room (we have to occasionally "confine" her there while we clean up the house). A 144hz TN panel would be useless for these needs.
So, when you ask, "Why get this over XXX monitor?" the answer is simple: Different products for different needs. This product meets our current need. The ASUS does not.

Nightf0xxI have Lenovo monitor with Neo Blade panel and I can run it @ 75 Hz. Not sure if this monitor can do it though.

Nightf0xxIt's** funny you're trying to teach me words when you don't even know the difference between it's and its.
Also, you call this a discussion? Your first post here was a strongly worded one that is more of a misinformed criticism than a point for discussion. Your second post was just more of the same.
It's clear you're just trying to save face now, while simultaneously making zero sense. You really are embarrassing yourself.

iGrenadeI don't know how old you are and i don't care but you really need to grow up. It seems you either aren't too bright or maybe just a little keyboard warrior. My post were on topic of the product and massdrop which is what the discussion is for. Not attacking other members of the community. You are the only person here being rude. Keep your ignorance to yourself. This conversation has been over for many days now and since you aren't adding anything to it im not going to waste anymore of my time responding to you.

An online public discussion isn't over just because you said so, likewise to saying I contributed nothing to the discussion. It simply isn't the case. The discussion is over when it's locked or closed. Another member replied just 6 hours ago.
You just can't help but keep making misinformed statements and contradict yourself, huh? At least you're learning to refrain from commenting until you know better. I applaud you for that, you're a quick learner.

volchonokilliI don't think it can or at least it shouldn't be able to since the spec's say 60hz.

Nightf0xxIn manual for my monitor there's listed 75 Hz mode, while official specifications say it is capable only of 60. So with my graphic card drivers I can set mode to 75 Hz, and my monitor is working with it.

Nightf0xxFor gaming the poor color gamut ruins everything if you have ever seen a monitor with good colors. 72% is an eyesore and makes things look plastic-y

volchonokilliAre you sure it's running at 75hz? It could be that the GPU is outputting 75hz but the monitor can only display 60hz (especially if you did it through GPU drivers not monitor drivers).
Did you check on ufotest? I'd try that to confirm since your GPU drivers don't affect the monitor's refresh rate as far as I know.

Vick_bpmYes, I'm sure. Monitor is reporting 75 Hz and anyway difference between 60 and 75 Hz can be clearly seen. Ufotest is reporting 75 Hz too. I overclocked monitor using GPU (raised pixel clock), it's pretty easily done in Nvidia Control Panel. Also with 76 Hz monitor starts showing artifacts.
