Wow, I literally just got this monitor yesterday. Although it's a TN panel this is one of the best 1080p 144hz monitors you can get (trust me, I've done my 5 days of research) known for having the best color/image quality in terms of TN panels around this price range, if you don't need G-Sync or Freesync then this monitor is perfect. In fact, I'm using it right now! If you're looking for one with Freesync then go for the Viewsonic XG2401. Need G-sync? then the Acer Predator XB241H is the answer.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm also using an IPS display as my second monitor and I've managed to get this monitor to look identical (in terms of image/colors) as my IPS display! Of course, viewing angles aren't as good, but as long as you don't try to look at your screen with your head on your desk or over the monitor, it's going to be perfectly fine. Don't let the TN panel discourage you, this is an AMAZING monitor!
PoopstickerI got one back in December but still can't get the colours to be anywhere close to matching my Macbook Pro. This monitor is great for gaming, but absolute trash for trying to get any design work done. I'll be looking for an IPS monitor as my 2nd monitor for doing design stuff on.
techwizYou cannot remove it. But, when I first looked at this monitor, I too, was worried about the ugly chin at the bottom. However, in person the chin at the bottom of the monitor didn't bother me like I thought it would. I've personally come to actually really like the design compared to the standard buttons (if you didn't know, there is a little joystick at the bottom/under the chin in which you can use to navigate which is REALLY nice in my opinion).
fifty50That's definitely a good idea. One monitor for gaming, another one for watching movies/design work. Besides, it's nice to have at least two monitors to work on.
techaddict123456789I own this monitor and the "chin" at the bottom is not as bothersome as I thought it would be. 144hz is fantastic for FPS & MOBA games. Great gaming monitor but narrow viewing angle and I wish the colours were more accurate.
techaddict123456789You won't notice any colour issues if you just use it for gaming. But I use it as a 2nd monitor for my design work and in this industry, the colours are WAY off. Taken a lot of time to get it as close as I can, but I will probably end up getting an IPS monitor for doing my design work on. That said, this monitor has been fantastic for gaming.
techaddict123456789I turned on digital vibrance to about 15% in my nVidia Control Panel (had the biggest impact). I also messed with the specific brightness, contrast, and color settings on the OSD.
