so everytime i look for a bloody HDR monitor, everyone says its fake or its not to the true standard
i wish people and companies would make this more clear for consumers, its quite annoying hunting for a "true" HDR monitor when it is on every monitor despite not being "true" HDR

General_WinterThere are several different HDR specifications and this monitor qualifies for the lowest. To qualify for the higher tier "true" HDR monitors either need to be FALD (which is currently pretty awful for monitor use) or OLED (mythical unicorn status). Both options are well north of $1k as well.

ryan92084I think they're waiting for MicroLED to reach better production yield rates before they have "true" HDR monitors. OLED is susceptible to burn-in, especially for people that leave their Start Bar visible all the time. MicroLED supposedly fixes that problem by using inorganic materials.
I wouldn't mind paying over $1000 for a 4k MicroLED monitor. Especially if it has async refresh (Freesync/G-sync) and 120+ hz... which should be super easy for a microled panel to achieve.
