wtf does that mean? "FPS Game 1"
This is on amazon for $179 --> http://a.co/1ekpvOC
I can't find it cheaper so over all $30 off and wait 2 1/2 weeks to ship... If you want THIS monitor and have time to wait.
Then this is a good drop.
But for me, this is just an ok monitor, and I hate waiting so that $30 savings is not really enough in my opinion.
The VESA mount man...
Welho
Hey Welho I had the same problem (VESA Mounting) but I found and used this bracket I found on amazon and it fit perfectly hope it helps. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXHY529/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ignore what model it says it fits.
Any update on the shipping date? Thanks!
will we be advised of the shipping date via email?
Would like a 1440p at 27''.
Bad.Guerrilla
Your wish is granted. Here is a 27" IPS 1440P @ 144Hz that we are offering right now at the best price out there. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/nixeus-edg-27-ips-wqhd-freesync-144hz-monitor Cheers.
Id buy it right now if this were a 24" 1080 with 144hz refresh and 1ms response. Though this is not a bad price at all for this panel, the fact that it doesn't have VESA mount support kind of does it in for me. If it were a bit upgraded past this without VESA I'd be fine though. Anyone know of a panel matching what I said with or without VESA for around the $200-250 range? Not normal price of course but one that may drop down to that price some times?
partycle
here is a adapter bracket that I used for VESA mounting and it worked. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXHY529/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Amazing quality but no built in speaker. In my opinion 1080p at 27 Inch still look alright and tolerable

For $160 ips 27inch 1080p high quality 75Hz. Tolerable mean good. 1080p at 24 is the sweet spot. 27 Inch at 3 foot distance, I cant see an problems. I think enthusiast will tolerate it for $160
AshCloud
At that price point I will agree is tough to beat.
When exactly does this end?
All the criticism above is silly. This is a budget gaming monitor that already includes a lot for the money. I have the equivalent retail model from Fry's which goes for the same price on sale occasionally. The color is great because of the IPS panel and 75 hz is noticeably smoother over 60 hz, even though it is not 144 hz. Nothing under $400 will have G Sync because of licensing costs.
I use it with a GTX 1060. It is a perfect match for lower model cards such as GTX 1050, 1050 ti, 1060, RX 460, RX 470 that are more suited for 1080p and under 100 framerates.
bluestone
Agreed. I have a 144 hz 24" w/o freesync with a r9 290 and, given the low price, am considering this as a sidegrade since I often end up at around 75 hz anyway.
Can't believe that in 2017 there are still 6-bit+frc monitors coming out. It should be native 8-bit, at least...
Monitors suck nowadays vs TVs, you can buy the best one of them and still not getting even half of what you need for HDR. A TV for 1k or slightly more (49" Sony X900E), gets you full HDR specs...
Nico11
It's mostly because of the refresh rate and response time. There is a Linus Tec tips video on this. Basically tv plays the same or merges frames to mock fast refresh rate, which makes gaming innacurate. But as for video, tvs are good.
Would be nice with a DVI port.
When will this refresh rate fad stop? I'm sorry, but I don't give a shit about a monitor these days unless it's at least 144hz native.

I am not too fond of some of the specs either, but at that price point, as I stated above, is rather tough to beat.
1920 x 1080 @ 27" is going to look like 800 x 600 in 1995.
You should just bring back the drop for the 27UD68P-B.
27" 1080p = Too Pixelated. Non Ajustable stand with no VESA support.
Ill pass.

Came here to find out about vesa support. Thank you
I would be really interested in this monitor if it had mesa mounting on it..... tsk tsk... it really needs to be standard in all monitors, especially if they brand it as gaming.
how much to bring one of these badboys to greece?
Please massdrop.. add a gsync 165hz monitor with international shipping. I really got bored of all these basic freesync monitors.
Anyone know what the Freesync range is? If it's similar to other LG IPS 75hz monitors it's probably 40-75, but I can't find specs specific to this model.
I believe 40-75 wouldn't be quite wide enough to support Freesync's Low Framerate Compensation for when FPS drops below the monitor's supported Freesync range. :(
G-Sync just so stupid, you don't really see the benefit nowadays. Have it on a Predator 17X and it only works if framerate is higher than refresh rate. GL playing triple A titles on the latest graphics card at 120Hz, or even 75Hz in some cases. It is only good for MOBA's or games that are ruined by tearing issues, which btw are mostly solved by Fast-Sync function on 900 series GTX or above, but when it comes to a monitor with such small bezels like this, the lack of a VESA mount just defeats the purpose of those bezels, only for design, if not used for it's best, and i mean sticking 3 of these together and you live the game in reality

FYI G-Sync reduces tearing if fps is lower than your monitors refresh rate.
fcgriser
well, it doesn't. when i set whisper mode to 75fps (i use it as a fps limiter on my predator 17X because i don't need 100+ fps on that game) i experience tearing, but if i set it to 80fps, pfff magic, no more tearing. also G-Sync is advertised as "high refresh rate gaming with no tearing". also as i saw on a lot of forums, G-Sync doesn't like same fps as the monitor refresh rate, so if monitor 75Hz and you limit fps at 75 fps, it will not work, you have to set fps +/- 2 above or below refresh rate. so as i mentioned whisper mode above, it only supports 5 fps steps, so G-Sync to work, i have to set fps limit from whisper mode either 80 fps, either 70 fps, but not 75 fps as the monitor refresh rate, or i will have tearing. strange, this G-Sync, right?
If this had VESA mounts I would be all over it!
Disappointing that MD is not opening up all the monitor drops for international shipping. Still no rhyme, no reason to their decision making process of limiting drops to US-only shipping.

Ye, I'm here for monitors and I get arguments over nationalism, this shit is everywhere lmao. USA is best boi but no need to fight over it ggez too much bm.
Order ANYTHING in BULK, worldwide, no minimum order.

It would cost to much to ship making it cheaper to buy local.
Drink15
depends a lot on LOCAL pricing and availability, don't assume you know either for the ENTIRE world. In any case, it's not YOUR decision, every MD member should be able to decide for themselves whether or not it's worth buying this item and paying exorbitant shipping cost instead of MD making that decision for them and taking away the freedom of choice.
No mounting options... ehhh.
the_Hamiltoe
seriously. I wonder how much extra it costs to incorporate VESA mounts into the design? I wonder how many sales are lost because of it..
"Contrast Ratio: Mega"
Ok then.
qewrq
Something proprietary and stupid then, I guess?
Is this good for gaming?

You really get the value out of this monitor specifically if you plan to run an AMD freesync-capable GPU, otherwise it's just a decently cheap monitor.
intk
NO. Don't buy.
1080p just does not cut it any more. This is a descent price though.
Zen-ish
I thought so too. Till I realized running 4k at 60fps would require 1080ti... Or two. So I'll stick with 1080p for now. Besides, consoles work best with 1080 and 4k (and not 1440p), if I decide to broaden my gaming selection with exclusives.
Shinigami84
1080p is still the sweet spot, nothing wrong with it on 27 in or lower. Takes much more graphics power to run 75 fps at 1440p. Not sure if 1070 can do that consistently without lowering settings substantially.
There's no VESA mount.
psiclone
And that is why I did not just hit the buy button for three of them.
