In short - I would probably stay away from this monitor.
I recently purchased the 29UC88-B which is also 75Hz - 29-Inch - IPS - 2560x1080 Ultrawide - Freesync. The panel that they use is probably the same in both monitors. Side-by-side they physically look identical. I'm not happy with mine at all. I'm coming from a nothing-fancy 22 inch 60Hz 1080p monitor. I know that a 15Hz difference isn't much, but I was expecting some type of noticeable improvement. I played some high action FPS games and was not impressed at all. The image didn't "feel" any "faster". It actually felt like crap. There was noticeable response lag. A friend of mine who has a nice 144Hz monitor also felt this way when I let him try it out. I ran some simple tests (http://www.testufo.com/#test=frameskipping) to find out that this thing skips frames like crazy!
I have no idea which model came first or what the exact differences are, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Maybe this model is nothing like the one I bought . . . Maybe it is.
RS7588this is more of a production monitor since it only has a 75hz panel, no displayport, and has a 5 ms response time.if you are looking for a good gaming monitor, anything with 1ms response time is the best choice. and also it should have some sort of g-sync or AMD's equivalent. i have an ASUS 24 inch 144hz 1ms monitor, and its beautiful. would recommend (but dont be like me and buy it through bestbuy cause i got a bit ripped off compared to amazon)
upbuttcoconut123Thanks for your reply. I understand what this monitor is. I own the kinda-sorta-gaming version of this (Display port, 1ms response and FreeSync), but its crap IMO. I was just warning gamers away since that seems to be the general party interested in this monitor. I can't imagine this being good for gaming at all if my kinda-sorta-gaming one isn't.
RS7588No it is not crap. I have the gaming version too, and it is beautiful on Destiny 2 and Assassins Creed Origins on 75hz. Maybe explain why it is bad according to you?
upbuttcoconut123There is no such thing as a beautiful 1ms response time monitor. That's because most low response monitors use TN panels which have the worst color and viewing angles.
I have an OLED t.v. and I had to replace all my monitors, including an ASUS ROG PG278QR, because image quality was so bad.
sugaShaneMeh . . . The "importance" of response time is over emphasized anyway. I'd be extremely surprised if anyone can actually tell the different between 1ms and 4ms.
