This is not really HDR. With ~400 nits peak brightness it can't really display 10bit content with a wide dynamic range without lowering the brightness a lot.

rafaelinuxTBH, it's 550nits in HDR mode. However, this is NOT a true 10bit panel, it's 8bit+FRC, so yeah, it's a fake HDR.

Unfortunately these monitors have issues. They look really nice, very good picture quality, but they do not last. 3 out of 4 we purchased for our office developed a problem where the screen turns green and/or purple after a while. We sent them back to LG, they can't fix them, they don't have any stock on hand to replace them, but at least they sent us refund checks. There are similar reports on Amazon and B&H too. This is sad because there aren't any good choices out there for quality 32" 4K monitors and other brands you can buy most likely use the same LG panel, e.g. ViewSonic. Buyer beware.

We've had 2 LG 31MU97-B bought in 2015-2016 and so far so good, true 4K, happy with them. I hope we can get a bit more use out of them. They are the reason for purchasing the 32UD99W, only to disappoint.

MassYou are lucky. Mine died after a year and a half of careful use. I discovered a lot of 31um97 users had the same happen to them.

bad deal, add $14 and you can get this at B&H now, and those guys ship worldwide without complaints about "elevated shipping charges", or just $10 more on Amazon. And it's most definitely not a "new arrival", MD tried to sell this monitor before (not sure if they succeeded), https://www.massdrop.com/buy/lg-32-4k-uhd-ips-monitor-w-hdr-10 not to mention this is an outdated model, being replaced by a nano-cell 32UK950-W with much better specs. https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32UK950-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor

AnzialB&H shows Oct 2018 availability for 32UK950-W. We waited and waited to get our pre-orders of 32UD99W. Not sure why LG has such a hard time making monitors.
