This seems like the ultimate 1080p for Nvidia gamers. But if I could afford this, I could probably afford a 1080ti and 1440p LCD.

itchyYou are absolutely right, at this price this monitor's specs are an absolute travesty. Too little for so much money. You can easily get pretty much the same thing for $400 less, minus gsync.
AnzialAnzial, I have to agree with you here for sure. However in every Freesync monitor drop many people are asking for G-Sync monitors. But then when we drop them not to many people are interested in paying the price for them even though this drop is $100 cheaper than anywhere. Cheers.

Tex-ArozziI blame Nvidia for not incentivizing this well enough for monitor manufacturers to drop their prices. The manufacturers seem skittish and are embracing Freesync for the future. Perhaps a happy compromise would be if Nvidia drivers supported Freesync out of the box, but made G-Sync available as a noticeably superior and more premium option (widening the current gap in quality even more). That is, if they can truly justify the existence of G-Sync over Freesync at all.

Tex-ArozziI think i've told you a few times already, choose a better product, this one in this price range is just not worth the money for what it offers. You can't justify the humongous price-tag with gsync alone, at this price people would want more than that. As is, you are looking at the second failed drop, a $30 discount compared to the first one notwithstanding.

Matt80910112It is proprietary but why the fuck would you want to pay for this feature alone $300? 😨 https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16824025424 🤑 And you don't have to wait forever to get it either 😝
ZettoYes, Massdrop has sold that same monitor you linked for $499.99. So, if you are interested in seeing it re-dropped you can request it here. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/lg-34-144hz-curved-ultrawide-monitor-34uc79g-b Cheers,

Tex-ArozziAnother nail in the coffin for this drop! Why would any sane person spend $400 on gsync feature?🙃

Matt80910112Freesync is spearheaded by AMD but is a part of VESA standards. G-Sync is proprietary. G-Sync at the moment is supposed to be better. But it's not HUNDREDS of $$$ better, unless you are a pro gamer and the money means nothing to you.

itchy1080ti and 1440p is a good choice. But keep in mind if your looking at a monitor at this price point/features your looking for 144hz and gsync. If your running nvidia you dont want tearing at 144hz takes away from the experience.
1440p cant run 144hz sadly only 120hz due to dp limitations. Which still isnt bad. But try to max everything out like i do with a 8700k @ 5ghz, 1080 ti 32gb ram, 850 evo and your definetly not getting near 144hz yet alone 100 on most modern titles. The graphical HP is just not there. Its going to take alot a few more generations of graphics cards before we get to that point period.
I get everyone wants 4k and 1440p. we all do. but if you want 144hz/gsync its not going to happen. If people realize you need the fps to use the 144hz effectively they would understand 1440p and 4k is not worth it at this time.
Its not a bad choice to still go with 1440p or 4k, just realize its limitations and make your choices accordingly. The price sucks for gsync i know that, but if you want it your gonna pay for it since it uses hardware instead of software like freesync (which freesync has some limitations gsync doesnt and you have ot have an AMD card not a nvidia).
Just do your research know what you want and purchase accordingly. I dont think we'll see any gsync price drops in the near future. usually a 200+ investment for it alone. I love my 1440p monitor but i miss 144hz and gsync. Half tempted to purchase one of these off amazon, but i think i'll wait for volta and purchase that first and see how the FPS looks after that before diving into a 1080p @144hz or 1440p @ 120hz. I run a 1440p dell u3415w now, (which i purchased for 1200 when the tech first released). I will say theres no leaving ultrawide once you go that route, but i do miss 144hz gsync alot in some fast paced games i play.

AmraWith a 1080ti and 2k ultrawide, you will not be able to play at 144fps consistently on max settings in A LOT of games. I have to turn half of Fortnite's settings halfway down to keep a consistent 120fps on my ultrawide 2k with 1080ti, 16gb ram, and i7@5Ghz.

Disturbedfuel15you do not have the 1080TI TRIO which is probably the 2nd or 3rd best 1080TI ever made, also my system is a BIT stronger of a build than the specs you say,no im not trying to have a pissing contest, but i can play Fortenite at max settings can easily keep 120 FPS and many other games at that or higher,it depends on the games cap on FPS rate.

AmraYou do not have an ultrawide monitor as you stated earlier. You are playing at 2560x1440 or roughly 3. 7M pixels. The ultrawide in discussion is 3440x1440 or roughly 5M pixels. That means the graphics card has to push roughly 25% more pixels for this ultrawide versus your setup. I am sure now you now see the validity of my previous point, that a 1080ti cannot keep a steady 144FPS for many new games on maximum settings, including Fortnite, with a 1440p ultrawide monitor. The difference between your graphics card and mine is very minute, the difference being the core clocks of 1683MHz vs 1670MHz, respectively. The 13MHz (or 0.8%) difference is very slim and will make barely any difference in FPS capability--maybe 1 or 2 frames per second faster... MAYBE. I am very impressed that you have a better graphics card than me though--congratulations.
