OK, I just set up my LG 34UM94 monitor. I have several things to report:
1) Warranty info. The warranty I received with the monitor- pictured here
search

very clearly states that it is an 1 year warranty, while the drop specs clearly stipulate a 3 year warranty. There is no other documentation referring to a 3 year warranty. Massdrop, can you help with this?
2) I have backlight bleeding occurring on all four corners of the monitor, although it seems to be concentrated mostly on the bottom left and bottom right corners. I'm including photos here- they were taken in a completely dark room with no lights on.
3) Another major issue of concern for me is the fact that I have a five-inch circle of red pixels clustered together in the northeast corner of my screen. I'm also including photos here.
4) The documentation in the user guide states that HDMI should be 50Hz, and I'm locked at 30Hz via HDMI, and there is no option where I can change the refresh rate manually. I was sure hoping for 50Hz, as per the official documentation.
Massdrop, can you step in to help address each issue I've outlined here? Thanks.

aftereffectsmagicWow, that is some pretty serious bleed.
@HassanS, what's the deal with the warranty? Is there official documentation that states we get the 3 years? It'll be tough going to LG in 2 years saying, yeah my manual says 1 year, but they told me I had 3.

aftereffectsmagicThat's not very encouraging.
Regarding the 30Hz, if I remember correctly 50Hz is only available via DisplayPort/Thunderbolt.

aftereffectsmagicRefresh rate.. depends on the video card and it's HDMI version.. is it 1.2? it must be HDMI 1.2 to get the 50MHz... and the Video Card must support the resolution, or it might clock it down as well..
Lastly, not all HDMI cables are 1.2 compliant.. and might kick it down to 30MHz.

DrewWarranty is 3 years as-stated, there's no bait and switch going on, we'll find out the details from LG- it's probably just sloppiness on their part with not changing the documentation in the guide.

LiquidRealityI think 92. Looks like the first 80 orders were shipped- keep in mind that some orders were for 2 or 3 monitors.

MarkPerhaps there is some fine print that the 3-year warranty is only valid through Massdrop as this is the commercial model, so they're treating you as a company buying the commercial version?

MarkSo anyone past #80 is looking at early October then? The remaining 102 people in the drop?
It seems like a good bit less than half of the actual drop actually received units this round as stated in the updates since there were 182 people in the drop as listed at the top of the page and some folks have purchased 2 or 3 each.

aftereffectsmagicDid you verify that the light glow doesn't change as you move your head around? Does it's intensity change if your view moves around? If so that is IPS glow, not bleed. Let us know

MarkIIRC, someone said earlier that LG will be honoring the warranty, not MD. If the documentation is incorrect, LG will not honor the warranty past what's printed in the documentation with the monitor.

kevinriversNo, 60hz is with displayport/thunderbolt, the 50hz is just with HDMI, BUT certain devices are limiting the refresh down to 30hz, but it appears to be the device you have hooked to the monitor doing this. The panel itself is capable of showing you 50hz over HDMI if your device on the other end can keep up.

adudeinblueA lot of the paperwork, including the warranty sheet, does not mention a specific model. Mine also says 1 year. However the box and the "quality assurance report" sheet says UM94.

SupermoistIt sounds like they're older devices with older revisions of HDMI.
