I ordered this so long ago that I forget the actual date but I think I was #96 or something. While I knew going it to it that it be a month before I had my hands on it, I thought that was okay as I didn't need it right away. Now that it has been two months I can't help but laugh at the whole ordeal. The joke around my office at work is that people like to ask me on a daily basis if my massdrop monitor shipped yet.
Needless to say, given this two month wait, I am unlikely to order anything of this price again and I know that no one at my office would ever consider it. It's a shame, actually.
I have never been upset about it, I just think its funny that I paid 850.00 out of my account two months ago with no monitor ship data in hand. Everyone I mention it to thinks its a total scam and fodder for the BBB. I know better, but things like this do give massdrop a pretty bad name even its out of their control.

gshipleyMD should give the participants of this drop like a $25 credit towards the next drop of their choice. I'm another unlikely returning customer, they arent even dropping the stuff that the people actually want, just some random ass katanas and sewing shit.

tmdals0213I'm not sure what an ass katana is, but guys...... ;) Does your existing hardware not work? I know it's 2 months, but this was due to factors that LG and MD had no control over, and it seems people don't have patience and understanding. Maybe it's this instant gratification world we have now. What I mean by LG having no control is, how many monitors got ordered in the end? 180+? I forget. The SIZE of this monitor and the production delays to fix the monitors caused this to be broken into two shipments. If not as many had ordered, and if these screens were smaller, then LG could have done it quicker probably. It's MD's fault - ZERO - percent. You're giving grief to the middle man, and it's unwarranted. This monitor is $999-1250 everywhere else and you got it for $850.
- They said from the beginning there would be a delay with this, and you're saving $150-400 (not to mention no tax or shipping costs) on this that all your instant gratification co-workers would be paying for this, with 1 year warranty to boot. You get 3 years -
Sure, it's unfortunate, but big deal. Your 27-30" isn't gonna hack it for a little longer? They already said it's at the LG warehouse and on way to MD warehouse.
Am I the only one left who's grateful to MD for saving me $150-400 and giving a 3 year warranty? It'll be here any day now. People need to have patience.

SupermoistI dont know what an ass katana is either but I agree with you on every point. Then I saw this
http://www.staples.com/LG-Electronics-34UM94-P-34-inch-QHD-Ultrawide-LED-LCD-Monitor-Black/product_IM1VQ2090
I still agree with you but if staples can get it to 950 MD should have tried for lower.

GrizzlyflameYou got it for $850. And you're still mad Staples has it for the UNUSUALLY low price of $950?

Gnrl_KittyThink about this, with all the issues people are having with clusters dead pixels and horrible blacklight bleed and LG saying they can only return it from where they got it and MD not taking returns, when you inevitably get a bad one what are you going to do? Would you pay 100$ more to be able to return something and get your money back. If the ones people were receiving weren't all messed up I would have no problem, and I am content with waiting and seeing how mine will turn out.

GrizzlyflameThat has nothing to do with the PRE-DETERMINED price of the monitor. And as it was said several pages ago, the number for RMAing this COMMERCIAL monitor is different from the regular retail RMA process, and the direct phone number was included in that post. The person who posted that comment had called the wrong department. Your point is moot.

GrizzlyflameAnd at the very least you are going to get hit with Tax if you order from Staples. And are they actually in stock and available from Staples? How many do they actually have ready to ship?

Gnrl_KittyIf the people with clusters of dead pixels are being properly taken care of then I have no issues. I had the impression they were getting the run around, which made the 3 year warranty useless, which meant the customer was taking the blunt of the risk meaning the price could have been lower imho. If you say it's ok then ok.

LiquidRealityThis is like the second or third time I am seeing someone say you will get charged tax if you buy from X retail. Massdrop charges me tax on every drop?

TWEPYou only charge tax on internet transactions to buyers in states that you have a physical location
Staples has a physical locations in almost every state (sans Hawaii) so they charge almost everyone tax .
Massdrop has an office in CA so they only charge tax to orders from CA. Edit: And they also have a warehouse in NJ so they tax on orders from NJ also.
CalenKennedyWe also operate a warehouse from New Jersey, so taxes are charged in NJ + CA.

MarkAnd then there is the very awkward moment when you live outside of the USA, and MD puts a nice sticker on your package with exactly what's in it so you get to pay export tax when it's delivered AND your product is more likely to disappear at some random airport or even at your national post service company.
The idea is cool, but in the end Amazon would have given me the same price BUT with faster shipping and no tax because they're also .co.uk or .de instead of .com...
