foybleFollow-up: contacted LG because Massdrop hasn't gotten back to me (and I never got an email confirmation verifying that they received my message), and their warranty doesn't cover "physical damage" so they suggested I pay for repairs on my new tv out of pocket

foybleSecond followup: contacted FedEx to find out about the package's insurance. Apparently it was only insured for the 100 dollars that FedEx gives to every customer who pays for FedEx ground. This sucks =(

foybleSorry to hear this. Thanks for letting us know the risk we're taking when we deal with MassDrop. I got my TV in record time and perfect condition, but after reading this, I won't be buying anything over $100 here.

digitalnicotineI didn't finish my story (figured nobody cared lol). Massdrop refunded me the entire amount. Their customer service was great. I'll never purchase another LG product again though

foybleThanks for this additional info. I'm glad you were fully refunded, and MassDrop took care of this issue. It's quite reassuring. FWIW, I'm replacing my other TV with an LG because I'm so pleased with what I purchased here.

foybleLOL, you really think this is a major problem with LG products??? Wow. I mean, obviously purchase whatever you want, bu this is just silly to me. You're TV was damaged in shipment, you got a refund, deal with it. Doesn't mean, in anyway, that LG isn't a great choice or that this happens often. But if you choose something inferior just because you received 1 damaged product...that's cool.

whiteninjazx6rIf I spent hundreds of dollars on a product that I received damaged through no fault of my own and neither the manufacturer, or shipper was offering any sort of refund or reimburstment through an insurance policy; I would absolutely think twice before ordering from them again. Why risk going through that headache and feeling that you're just going to have to suck up losing hundreds of dollars?

whiteninjazx6rWhat bothered me is that the tv had virtually no packaging to prevent damage (it's long gone, of course, so I can't take a picture to prove it) but LG didn't warranty their own products. Instead, they insisted on me paying for the tv to be repaired. They have no incentive to improve their customer service because of a shitty warranty they can hide behind. That's why I won't do business with them again.

foybleU bought from an unauthroized dealer...you get what you pay for. Next time...when spending so much money, do your research on WHERE and WHO you're buying from. MD is not authorized and LG claims they won't cover warranties (even though people who haven't actually tried to use them, claim they will work) a simple phone call to LG will tell you for a fact...they don't cover warranties on TVs bought from MD...it's on their site too.

foybleFacepalm. Customer makes a bad choice. Blames manufacturer, even though it's been warned a 100 times it's a sketchy idea to buy from unauthorized dealers. Customer still thinks they're not an idiot.
Great.
