65 or even 70+ inch 4Ks are way cheaper and will work just fine unless you have a MASSIVE room. For a tv this size and price I'd wait until the 8Ks come out in a couple of years. The price of this tv will nose dive like all the 1080 tvs did when 4K came out. A $4000 reduction is tempting, just not enough for me. FWIW
GaGuy4k content has only now started becoming readily available in larger quantity after the format being out for several years. Sure, 8k TVs may be out in 2-3 years but when will enough content be out that makes it worth it to buy? Regular DVD still outsell even Blu-ray, do you think there’s ever going to be 8k discs?? It’s highly unlikely. 4K UHD Blu-rays are the last physical media.
SdtmaxMy comment was not related to content but price. The 8ks will drive down the price of 4ks like 4ks drove 1080p into the dirt. I still won't replace my 75" 1080 as 4ks are too expensive. That's my opinion. You are free to disagree but it's still just your opinion.
GaGuy8K is gonna be a while, Japan is angling for the first major 8K broadcast later this year (baseball IIRC). The vast majority of high end digital cameras in use by movie studios today are 6.5k at best. This is the first olympics to be shown in 4k and that's an event where a lot of money is invested by various parties in the chain. These panels are always stupidly expensive because they are sold in such low quantity. It's my belief that it will be several years before there is much growth in the market for a TV this size.
