vlad840I wished I had waited, I would have gotten this one with Dolby Atmos, oh well. How much were the 55 and 65" going for?

AsydRemember, the Dolby ATMOS in this display, is only used through the soundbar, it probably will not transfer ATMOS to your outboard speakers or receiver/preamp.

vlad840I’m no expert but I have read around. It sounds like the 2017 model will in fact send Atmos back through the use of ARC where the 2016 didn’t not. Here is a reference to a similar conversation I came across. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-oled-technology-flat-panels-general/2925344-c7-oled-lg-support-dolby-atmos.html#/topics/2925344

emerald83I have seen that thread on AVS, and you may be correct! And I certainly hope that you are.
But considering that thread is referencing the C7 and not the E7 while another user additionally states; '... support Atmos over ARC if the stream is in a DD+ container', could be a constraint.
Also another user is reporting having issues on getting any sound over ARC, so I opted not to offer something that I haven't experienced or verified myself as yet.

vlad840Correct...if they don't have the chip it won't work...that's the problem with Dolby ATMOS, all things in the chain need the chip to process the signal which explains why other formats are in the works.

vlad840My 65" was actually delivered today in Tennessee, 2 days early! Good thing that I had today off. I did have to assist the FedEx driver to get it in the front door from the driveway.
Mine arrived in better condition than alexlr's did. No holes in the box but was delivered upside down according to the Caution/Warning label...

vlad840Vlad - I can confirm atmos works pushing signal through ARC from tv to receiver. I was using it that way last night on a 5.1.2 setup. There is a Dolby app pre installed which does a nice job showcasing the technology. For reference I have an Onkyo TX RN575 receiver.
