My tv was shipped from NJ to MA and arrived as scheduled In a outer box. No problem setting up . Pix is beautiful. There so many modes still trying to figure out which I prefer. I am having a problem with blurring and judder. Apparently I am not alone. A number of forums have suggestions but hasn’t fully fix the issue. I changed the TruMotion to User and set De-Judder to 0 and DeBlur to 5. Also turned off Real Cinema. It has helped some. Has anyone had this problem and what have you done. Is there a firmware update I have not heard of.

PaulmelGet firmware 04.70.30, reset all settings to default then go and select Technicolor expert and Gamma 2.2, (no other settings changed), for an initial setting and see what you think.

vlad840vlad840 I couldn't agree more. Have had c7 for a couple weeks and have been very concerned about extreme judder and screen tearing in content, especially 24p 4k blu rays, mostly Planet Earth 2. Today I updated the firmware to 04.70.30 and it is a huge huge huge improvement!

bluetickHoundI believe I updated to the latest firmware but I am still having the same issue? Is this a issue across all the TV's or is this just some?

BeefmagiginsThe first thing that I did was to update the firmware then apply those settings, so I don't believe that I ever had the issues that you are referring to. What source are you viewing, (cable, blu-ray, 4K)?

BeefmagiginsMake sure you have 04.70.30 installed. You have to download directly from LG's website, if you try to update directly on the TV, it won't see the update. Check out AV forum and AVS, this has been a very common issue with the LG oleds, especially for people who are sensitive to motion. Many have returned LG sets to go with the a1e because of its better motion handling. Since I updated to the newest firmware (04.70.30), I have seen a major improvement, so much so that I don't think I will be thinking of returning my LG set anymore.

bluetickHoundAwesome! I will try this when I get home. Any idea why that firmware isn’t available through updating on the TV?

BeefmagiginsThe release date on the website is 11/22. From what I understand, it takes a little while before they are sent out over the air to the TVs, so I would think it will update over the air to the TV sometime soon. But they put it up on the website earlier for firmware nerds who want to grab it, throw it on a USB stick, and get going sooner...

BeefmagiginsWhen I first saw the screen tearing and judder all over the 'mountains' episode of planet earth 2, I was horrified. It gave me a headache and I have been scheming to return the lg oled and give the a1e a try. But I am sure that this new firmware has greatly improved it. In fact, the only listed revision on lg's site is something about "screen tear over hdmi" or such, which is why I went ahead and installed it with a usb stick. It feels so much better now. No more headaches, and I am confident that soon I will stop judging the picture quality and looking for problems, and just relax and enjoy the awesome display! There are still lots of settings to dial in so be patient! Hope you enjoy your new set!

bluetickHoundThanx for all the good replies. I haven’t figured out how to download the firmware suggested. Not that good with computers. Only have an IPad. I emailed LG assistance and got a very quick reply with suggested changes. It has helped somewhat but hasn’t fixed the problem. Here is a copy of LG reply: “we understand that you are having issues with the motion blur of your tv. We have some recommendations that you may follow to rectify this issue.
Adjust Trumotion: To do this please follow the guide using your LG remote

SETTINGS > ALL SETTINGS > PICTURE > PICTURE OPTIONS > TRUMOTION TruMotion = User ( De-Blur = 10)
Optimise Picture Settings Picture Mode: Expert (Dark Room) Picture Mode: Expert (Dark Room) Contrast: 90 Brightness: 56 B Gamma: BT.1886 Color: 54 Tint: 0 Sharpness: H=0, V=0 Color Temperature: Warm2 Color Gamut = Auto, Backlight: 60 Black Level = Low, Real Cinema = On All other settings should be set to "off" or zero "0". Real Cinema: On Any individual R,G, or B color subcontrols, if present, should remain at their default settings.
We hope that the information help you with your concern. “

PaulmelI went through all the settings and basically turned off any post processing settings. Really anything saying it is doing something to make the image “better”. I turned true motion off completely under user settings I put both sliders to zero. I still am having some issues with my Apple TV 4K when the Camera pans, one movie I noticed it most in was The Revenant. I have a theory it might be something with the Dolby Atmos Enabled on the Apple TV when viewing HDR10 movies, just a theory not too sure though. I know there is an issue with the Apple TV switching to HDR and Dolby Vision. 4k blu rays look great in HDR10 on the Xbox one x.
